We run a whole home generator business and we store all our inventory at 6300 Washington. During the last storm, all access and communication was cut off. We could not reach the manager or the local DM. I could not call ANYONE here locally and finally got a hold of someone at the corporate office. They were not very nice and told me because they lost power, they were mandated by local authorities to shut it down. I understand it was a major storm and communication was shoddy but someone should have been at the office to let people in by opening the gate with a manual override. All they did was put a sign on the key pad saying there was no power. This lasted to seven days and no help was available. We could not do our installs due to no access. I don’t want to waste any more time writing this as nothing will be done about it.

Have 2 storage units at this location, and both have been broken into on different occasions. This location claims to have temperature control but our unit in the 800 building has not had AC for three + months. We tried to do work in the unit but had to leave due to extreme heat. Also, there are only 3 carts for all buildings, so you need to search the whole property for one. If you're lucky one might be available. Facility is clean and the current site manager is helpful and customer oriented.

Several of the climate controlled blocks are out for example in the 800 section. I am paying for climate control but not receiving climate control. Several times the main gate is out so you cannot enter the site. Plus with significant rental increases this past year.

Awfulllllll! Experience with this storage unit! I have had my storage unit broken into 3+ times. I have had over $10,000 of computers, electronics , very needed paperwork, sentimental items that can never be replaced stolen. It took them over seven months to get back with me on the claim, all while I was trying to work out of town, dealing with someone stealing all my stuff. They have an inadequate security, they claimed they have proper security solutions, cameras, etc but nothing is ever done, and no one has ever caught and nothing is ever returned. After they finally finished the claim, I received a check in the mail from the claim adjuster, who is very unprofessional and didn’t get back to me for a long while barely put any energy into helping me and I had to figure everything out on my own while I only got $700 out of having over $10,000 stolen out of my unit. I talked to a manager at one point and someone on the phone. Don’t remember the name but they told me that a few months on rent could be compensated so as I am out of town working, I believe that there is a couple months, free rent and maybe I might be compensated correctly but no. I get back they are charging me over $1500 for back rent for the rent on the months that they said they would compensate and now all my stuff is locked up and I can’t get it out unless I pay. I will not be paying and I will be opening up a lawsuit against this property. I already have the attorneys and I already have all the proof. I have everything I need to make the step in the right direction.. please do yourself a favor and go to a different storage unit company or just a different storage unit all together.. unless you want all of your belongings to be broken into and for whoever to be sitting in the office to not give a single care in the world. They get paid their measly $12 an hour to sit there and not care so again do yourself a favor and go somewhere else don’t end up like me having to spend 2000+ dollars just to get the remnants of what you have out of a storage unit that is being held for hostage. And if I need to, I have photos, I have proof and I will be posting them all soon. Thank you for your time for reading my rant, but this was the biggest waste of my time I’ve ever been apart of.

I've rented for over 6 months and had a wonderful experience.The facility is clean and well maintained. The staff is very helpful. Ivy is very good at her job. She is attentive, knowledgable and friendly. I rented both 10x10 and 10x15 for room to navigate. Ivy was very helpful in affirming the size of storage unit. After 6 months, I have not seen any bugs or rodents and when I moved my items I didn't see any feces in the boxes or on the furniture. I am very satisfied with the location and facilities.

Our unit was one of the units broken into along with other 64 units and the office on site. This location only has two cameras and not nearly enough security. The doors and elevators are not locked and do not have keypad access - they are accessible once you enter the grounds. The only locked security is the auto access gate you enter and exit from, which is how the thieves broke into the location. I discovered our break in OVER A WEEK LATER myself when I stopped by to drop something off into the unit - I had to call customer service to even be informed of what happened. We were told they attempted to call us, but no emails or text messages were sent out asking us to contact the store... we work during the day and can't answer phones usually during business hours. It is strange that no other communication attempts were made. No police report was filed either by the location, so there was no way to provide documentation to our insurance company of the break in. We had to file an individual report with HPD ourselves so that we could submit a claim to our insurance company for what was stolen. Our monthly rent rate was also increased via email the same month of the break in, and no price adjustment was offered after the loss. How can you raise rent via email, but you can't let a customer know the store needs to be contacted immediately in regards to your unit? We understand that staffing is limited, and the break in issue is not a reflection of the staff or management. With that being said, I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. The A/C also doesn't work well - the climate control is not stable here. We've moved to a different location with better security and operations, and learned a lesson in what not to look for in a storage facility.

I was disappointed with the surprise charge for mandatory insurance of $12/month on a $108 rental. This should be included in any web-based price quote. And climate controlled isn’t the same thing as air conditioning. As the moving truck started to unload, I realized the hall where my unit is located is easily 85 degrees. So, note to self, go to the unit PRIOR to movers showing up to physically SEE the unit and make sure it’s not hot!! Next visit I’m bringing a thermostat!!

Updated this rating. Main gate is down a lot and will not open after hours access is blocked. Management changed from two entrance gates to only one. The temperature inside the climate controlled building section I am in is noticeably different than the adjacent section. And CubeSmart significantly raised the monthly rental price.

My unit was broken into during daylight hours , using metal snips to cut around the lock. No police report provided to me. No Photos taken despite my giving authorization. Recently my unit got broken in last week along with other 64 units and the office on site. This location only has two cameras and not enough security. Wrote an email to management to ask their plan in enforcing security and cameras since this is not the first time and no response yet. I had recently got a rate increase of $140 a month for a small 5x10 unit. It’s supposed to be an A/C controlled unit and it’s always roasting in there. Not sure if I would recommend it to anyone. Very disappointed because it is a great location, but also a great location to get broken into.

She was always willing to answer my questions and do all that she could to make my emptying of my step--daughter's space easier. Storage unit is very clean and reasonably price compared to the other storage facilities around the area. Rissa was very patient and accommodating since I was not sure what size unit I needed. It was almost closing time and getting dark but she took the time to show me the units and broke down the prices for me, including the insurance policy I wasn’t aware of. While at the office and talking to me, she excused herself and was quick in running after a car that followed another car into the facilities. That incidence made me feel more secure knowing that she’s diligently doing her job and on the lookout for any suspicious activities!

I reserved a unit and received confirmation for all of the details and rental rates/specials I was locked in at and on move-in day I was told that my rate and special from my confirmation couldn't be honored anymore because the system had different specials going on now. I was informed I would have to choose between two of their most current specials instead......needless to say I am not renting a storage unit from this or any other Cubesmart facility. BIG thumbs down.

Beware of excessive rate hikes and no appreciation for loyal customers I leased a 10 X20 unit for $160 per month 2 years ago. My rate today just went up to $365. , this was just changing units too- I have been leasing a unit from them since 2010, but cubesmart bought the property a few years ago, and they have been horrible. They are leasing the same unit for close to $200 plus a half month free to new customers. I asked them to just charge me the same rate as they advertise, not asking for the half month free. They refuse. Their top, undiscounted rate for this unit is $260, and they refused to even keep me at that rate. The people running the facility are not friendly and managers have no decision making power- the regional managers do, and they have no concern for loyal customers- customers that have paid them for 9 years. There are much better storage options- stay away from Cubesmart!

Update: My storage unit was broken into last week. This was the second theft they had in two weeks and no one was notified after the first one. Cubesmart did not warn anyone! They stole a ton of stuff. There are NO cameras inside the buildings. There are cameras outside only. I'm giving them 3 stars because it's not entirely their fault that units got robbed but they really should have notified people after the first theft! Also their exit gate gets stuck occasionally so it's entirely possible the thieves didn't have a code and just drove right in. ______ Nina the manager was outstanding. She explained how everything worked, recommended what I needed, honored the Internet special though I was a walk-in and made the whole process easy and painless. It’s well lit and clean, including the storage hallways. I feel comfortable going there as a woman by myself. It was a great experience and more economical than the other two nearby places. Highly recommend!!

When I initially rented my storage unit, I arrived with my movers only to have them tell me that I needed to go up a size. My 10x10 was running $110/month. I went to the front office and asked for a larger unit. The woman told me she had 10x15 and it would only increase my rent around $50 -$60. She gave me a unit # and told me she would get the ppwk handled. Once I finished with my movers, I came back inside to sign all paperwork....THE UNIT JUMPED TO $295/month.....movers had already left. I spoke to numerous people and nothing was ever done. DON"T TRUST THESE PEOPLE!

A fairly typical drive up (garage style) storage facility. My unit stayed dry, and didn’t flood during Harvey, so that is certainly a credit to them. The staff are typically friendly, and the main thoroughfare is kept clean. My biggest peeve is that the code boxes to enter and exit, are placed in such a manner that you have to exit the car to punch in your code and gain access.

We had a large storage unit for a year. The facility was always very clean and well light. There were always dolly's around when we needed them and the staff was kind, friendly and very helpful. The security was very good and we felt like our things were safe as well as us while working in the unit. We would use this facility again.

This place is a storage location and a Penske truck rental location. We arrived driving a one way rental from Illinois. I did not have a place to park my Penske truck the night before we moved into our house. I called and talked to Lynda Gomez, the manager at this location. She was great! The place was very accommodating and helpful. They found a place for us to park the truck overnight and were just very helpful overall. I would definitely do further business with these people.

We went by today to inquire why our rate, which had just increased, was more than the price advertised online. We were told that it is because we were long term customers. We could go online and reserve another unit just like ours on the same floor and then we would get the lower rate. To us, like it would to most people, this sounded and is totally absurd!! We always pay on time and take care of our unit. This just didn't make any sense to my sister or I, nor the other customer that was in the office with us. Also I have commented before to the office that they are not keeping the light bulbs replaced and when we checked the unit again today they still had a lot of bulbs out. This is a climate controlled storage area and needs to be well lit to be safe. Since CubeSmart took over this location the property has gone downhill as well as the customer service. We will definately be moving at the end of this month. I hope other people do some checking around if they are long term customers of this place also.

The staff at this location were just fantastic.!! I needed to set up storage facilities for all my belongings coming down from Calgary, AB in Canada. I was able to reserve just what I needed over the phone several weeks prior to arriving. When I arrived in Houston, Amy was so helpful with everything we needed. She even found us a 30x10 unit with access on both ends. This made the loading of the unit so much easier for the movers. Thanks for all your help, and I feel fortunate that my possessions will be safe in your facility.
