I am absolutely grateful I chose this CubeSmart location and extremely satisfied with the customer service and professionalism I received from both Jose and Blanca. Jose was very patient with me and never once expressed any signs of annoyance considering all of the questions regarding my creative situation of being out-of-state. He was so professional and knowledgeable, I mistaken him as the supervisor. I guess the myth is true that ‘customer service starts from the top (leadership)’ because I experienced the very same professionalism with Blanca (the actual supervisor/manager). She was also extremely knowledgeable and thorough while assisting me with bringing my account up to speed. There are an abundance of storage companies to choose from; however- for me, what sets this place apart is their dedication to making each customer feel valued. I regret renting a unit here. I would have rented a climate controlled unit, but the elevator was out of service. I should have rented a CC unit anyway and just climbed the steps over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Instead, I rented a non-CC unit, and it keeps flooding every time there's a hard rain, which in Houston is at least once or twice a month. My storage unit floor is several inches above street level, so it's obvious to me the street's drainage is inadequate for heavy rain events. If ever you rent a non-CC unit, make sure you never store anything at floor level that you don't mind getting completely soaked.

This is my 2nd time using this CubeSmart location. I thought the premises were secure and that like the first time, my things would be fine. Boy was I WRONG!!!! I go to my unit the other day to grab a pair of tennis shoes I wanted to wear this weekend and discovered that my unit had been ransacked!! So let's start with the fact that when I arrived, there was a red Cubesmart lock on my unit. I was shocked because my bill was paid before the due date. I went to the office and the manager looks at my account and states she's not sure why the red lock was placed on my unit. Cool, she takes the red lock off and I enter my unit only to realize that someone had broken into my unit. I find it extremely suspicious that the red lock was placed on my unit with NO reason as to why, I hadn't been notified and then BAM...someone had broken into my unit. I 100% believe that this was an inside job because no other explanation would make sense. It's so frustrating because my daughter and I are trying to rebuild and for someone to go in and take things that belong to us, just isn't right!!! Needless to say, I will never recommend this storage location to anyone and I will most certainly warn people against using this location because someone there definitely seems to be taking advantage of the customers using this facility.

This is the best service I’ve had since Chic Fil A. I walked into nothing but positive vibes and positive attitudes. I reserved my unit online and I didn’t have a chance to do a walk in before my move in date. Because of Shavette, I was still able to do a walkthrough of my unit and move in the same day. I was provided with everything I needed for my unit. This is my first time getting a unit and my first time moving so I would love to get all the help I can. Ms. Shavette and Ms. Whitney made my move in very simple and easy. I wouldn’t want to work with anyone else but these 2 lovely ladies.

I had used Cube Smart for a couple years off of Alameda. Had no issues until one day I came to get my suitcases so I could go on vacation for a week. I hate thieves more than anything so I always double and triple check my locks before I leave. So I come back a week later to return my suitcases. I unlock my padlock, opened unit and 3/4 of my stuff was gone. I had thousands of dollars worth of camping gear, surfboards, wedding dress, furniture, and more. Total of $10,000 worth of stuff just gone. Management was useless, they just give you a number to call to make an insurance claim. Come to find out since there was no forceful entry I could not get a settlement for my stolen goods. I filed a police report nothing happened there because the cameras that are both inside and around the perimeter are not operational. So there’s no security footage of anything. This was an inside job. This place steals from there customers. This is not a secure facility with no working cameras or security. I have heard of multiple people getting there belongings ripped off with the same treatment and results.

I have no complaints - the price is right and the process was so simple. I called for a quote, they sent an email, I chose the contactless rental option and within an hour my unit was ready. Just as promised, the lock and key were waiting inside the freshly cleaned unit. I have yet to have any interaction with the staff, but after reading these other reviews I think I will have to stoo in and say hi one day.

Ray was absolutely amazing with his guest service with me. He was thorough with explaining the process of renting a unit and ensured I understood everything and was prepared. In person, again, he went above and beyond to help me with getting access through the gate (me error), and through his expertise recommended that I get a larger unit than I reserved—HE WAS SO RIGHT! I needed that extra five feet! And the cherry on top was how friendly and patient he was while assisting me. I could feel heat exhaustion building up and nearly fainted, I asked him if I could have another water—he brought me two fresh cold ones. It’s the small stuff like this that make guests feel confident in their choice to use a service or buy something. Ray, you’re a gem! Thank yooooou!

I called Cube Smart about three weeks in advance of my move in of May 5th...There was 50% off offered which I accepted...I didn’t pay a deposit for them to hold the unit...On May 5th, I had so much going on and was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to physically drive to finalize the transaction...Cube Smart rep called and I was able to complete the transaction, including signing and scanning my required documents...I was so happy I didn’t have to leave the house; and the rep, he was really accommodating and professional as had been the case with the other two reps I spoke with prior to speaking with him...A very positive experience

I have booked with an estimated arrival time to Store located at 7017 Almeda Rd, Houston. Arrived about 1 hr late with the truck and move crew to find out the store was closed "for lunch". The manager left a lousy note on the door that was hard to read. Once we finally figured out her number she said it would take 10-15' to return. It took her 30' to return "from lunch". The reservation had my number but she did not bother to call me to adjust timing. Very poor service

We rented 2 units (initially underestimated our amount of junk!) with CubeSmart during our home renovation and were so happy with the service that we kept one for holiday decorations and whatnot. Friendly & helpful staff, conveniently located. During Harvey all the units were miraculously untouched by the flood, and we’ve never had any theft issues. Great place to store temporarily or long-term!

Written Dec 4, 2024 in email to Almeda location Cube Smart. Your branch on Almeda is one of the worse community storage facilities I've ever encountered. I believe your Almeda store is price goughing. I'm on the second floor, first of all, in trying to close out my storage #1 the elevators don't work, #2 they keep the dumpster locked, #3 My facility has been broken into multiple times, #4 You have no secure means of protecting people property because the cameras dont work, most times the lights in the units dont work and I am so disappointed. You make me replace the locks on my unit constantly when the complete panel that contains the lock is broken into over and over again. My storage items have received multiple damages from burglary and theft, coupled with the ceilings constantly falling in and wetting up everything on each unit. I'm very disappointed and concerned by how you are able to stay in business so long. I am closing out one of the units 4076, but keeping 3122 and will place another lock on it when i'm available to do so. I previously provided you a lock for 3122 in which one of the staff said it was too large to fit. You have that lock. The managers were very professional and explained things well. Beware that the "free" moving truck is not really free, though that is probably normal for these kinds of businesses and deals. There is a $10 administrative fee, and you can only use it during office hours (must return the vehicle by 5:30 pm) which is not very convenient because I was forced to drive at peak rush hour. The unit that is "first month rent free" is not in the air-conditioned hall. But overall, I'm quite happy because they explained all the costs transparently before I paid, and $55 for a 10 x 7.5-foot room for the first month seems like a good deal.

Amelia is wonderful and I'm happy with the storage. The only problem is the contract. CubeSmart requires you to purchase their insurance...at least on paper. I provided the declaration page from my homeowner policy as proof of coverage but I still had to sign on the dotted line saying I wanted to purchase CubeSmart insurance at $12 per month. Amelia assured me I wouldn't be charged and I wasn't, but when I got a copy of everything I signed electronically, the contract to purchase insurance was included and no mention was made that I had provided alternate proof of coverage. If CubeSmart fixed that part of their sign-up process, I'd rate it 5 stars.

Truly the best rental experience I have ever been involved with. I am a 65 year old Cancer patient at MD Anderson. In need of storage during my extended stay I found helpful, courteous and professional staff that attended to my needs. Amelia Hightower, Facilities Manager at the site, is the best. While at the sight on a busy Sunday I observed her as she helped several others with the same courtesy she had availed to me. She took the time to help a young woman load a large antique piano. Yes, a piano. This lady is the asset that makes companies thrive and customers loyal *****

The best thing about the CubeSmart on Almeda is the staff. In particular, my great experience was with Mr. Anthony; he was truly a blessing. Mr. Anthony is an individual that is considerate, and works with you to ensure you understand what you need to know to make your storage work for you--and within your budget. He was also fun to talk with. I will definitely return to CubeSmart when I need a storage again.

Set up a storage unit reservation and discussed the unit over the phone with them. I confirmed my reservation and set up a time to come in and complete paperwork. When I came in at the agreed to time, they said they had given away my unit. I wouldn't use this place again.

This is a great place to do business with and I had a great experience here. The staff were very nice, especially Amelia. I did not know which unit to get, but they were honest, informative and did not try to upsell me anything I didn't need. You get the first month free with no commitment. The have a smallish (14ft?) moving truck that is extremely convenient for move-in, and it is only $10 when moving in, which saved me a good amount of time and money because I didn't have to go get a truck elsewhere.

My experience was awesome. The staff was very nice and accompanying to me changing my storage unit without extra penalties. Maria is the best at customer service, polite in very manner, and professional the whole experience. The price does not match the service. The storages are clean and well kept. I would tell everyone to use them for storage purposes.

Amelia Hightower and Maria Gomez are extremely professional, friendly, and helpful!!! Since my unit is a corporate rental, the lease agreement needed to be written in a particular format. Amelia and Maria were able to provide exactly what I needed. Also, the facility buildings and units are very well maintained, clean and properly climate controlled. I highly recommend CubeSmart located at 7017 Almeda Road! -Ed

UPDATE!!! DO NOT RENT HERE! Having to update my review after moving out, unfortunately, yet another encounter with "Amelia" the fee-charging tyrant will leave you feeling taken advantage of. Weeks ahead I called this location with my move out date of before July 24th (invoice day) considering my new home closing date of June 27th which was 3 days after the normal bill date. After receiving an email with ambiguous charges, I check my credit card statement to find that I was billed on July 25th through most of August. I sent in an email about it Sunday...NO RETURN CALL. I called today and inquire about it and 3 hours later receive a call from a location rep saying that Cubesmart noted recently that the storage was empty and now is when they can stop billing me In addition, the amount billed was incorrect, to which Amelia comes to the phone and says: "It could have been that our fees went up, but we have you as intending to move out on June 7th; we should have sent a letter." It's funny that this is the same person I had to have fees credited to me because of an erroneous charge earlier. Ironically, I've been in my new home for over a month and this seems to be the only letter that hasn't been properly forwarded after several weeks. Owner: Do your customers a favor and let this manager go. Place someone in charge that is empowered and understands that most people will not use your service to try to take advantage of a free month, rather most customers would like to do business with for a fair exchange. We have no reason to attempt to get over, but conversely, are highly insulted when uneducated managers try to argue against customers in lieu of small increments in revenue. The $96 you cheated me out of won't break me, but hopefully this review will enlighten some customers to second guess this location if "Amelia" is still employed here (or at least hire a CPA to watch your accounts). Best of luck to you "Amelia", I hope my $96 buys you a course in customer service! END OF UPDATE** Very early on I had a not so good encounter with this location. After writing a negative review, to my surprise, the owner reached out personally to get to the bottom of the issue and expressed a sincere effort to resolve the negative experience. I appreciate this so much and it means the world to me as a customer. Thanks for turning what could have remained a negative experience (and a scorned customer) into a positive experience by simply listening. This business will do well!

Moved into the storage facility this weekend because it is cheaper than what I was paying at Bullseye storage for a 10x15. That's a plus. However, for the savings I gave up security. Security here is not a priority and is at the very minimum. There are no added security measures on the external doors leading to the interior storage units. There are minimal cameras on property. The facility only has two wheeled carts to assist move in or move out. Both carts are locked in the office after the office closes. They are not accessible for customers 6 am - 9:30 and 5:30 pm to 10 pm closing. Very inconvenient. Furniture, boxes and belongs have to be hand carried from outside into your unit, second floor regardless. Additionally, the elevator was out of operation an entire day Monday. Poor service response time. Moreover, the electrical closet in the building where my unit is located is left unsecure and open. Inside the closet are exposed electrical wiring including access to the security system. Looks like someone is using it for their own personal storage as well. I am also convinced there are multiple people living in their units. This is not a complaint. Again, it's cheap and it's conveniently located near me. These are my observations and red flags that I'm ignoring. I'll make a further assessment at the end of my 30 days. Oh, a great move in deal for first month. The customer service I received was A1! I'm not sure how the management of all of their facilities is but the one on South Freeway is AMAZING! Angela is so sweet and helpful. We had a very unique storage situation and they provided everything we needed for it. Way above and beyond!
