Yesterday we rented a climate-controlled storage space from Amnesty. The facility was clean, secure, in a good location and priced fairly. Amnesty showed us 3 units and we rented one across the hall from the larger elevator. We found the prices on CubeSmart’s website, and finalized the lease online on my phone, all while seated in Amnesty’s office. We produced the Declaration Page of our home insurance policy and by-passed purchasing on-site storage insurance (another savings). We had looked at 3 competing self-storage facilities and liked CubeSmart best, and Amnesty was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly!

I really don’t think anyone really works in this location , actually I don’t think anyone really wants to work even if they are even in the office. I’m writing this review based off the lack of care and the lack of effort from his location. And I waited to write this. This morning I called to try to get some information on one of my units that I have at this property and let me tell you it takes the act of Congress to get someone on the phone to even give you any assistance. I finally got a hold of somebody and she told me, someone was there but i cant take my payment over the phone but I can come in person and let me tell you the phone call did not last more than three minutes and it only takes me three minutes to walk over there from my house as I’m walking over there I tried to call again to make sure somebody was in the lobby and once again, no one pick the phone up which is crazy to me because I just got the phone with her. I get to the location and load and behold. No one in there. The door is locked but the funny thing about it. Her car was sitting out there and I just got off the phone with her within the last three minutes , I am so fed up and sick of these people. And to make insult worse the supervisor or whoever was Bryan lol called to just let me know what their payment options are. Lol are you KIDDING ! There was no apology or any information on why there’s no one ever in the lobby. Clown. If you are thinking about renting here or renting with this company or at this location, I seriously warn you you will not get any assistance at your first initial move-in. They are extremely unprofessional

This is a nice storage facility. Well lit, clean, plenty of carts, etc. My gripe is common to most storage companies - they use the Boil-the-frog approach to continually ratchet the rent up while offering much lower prices to new tenants. So I rented the same sized unit down the street for $200/month less. I suppose I’ll be there until they annoy me with unreasonable rent and then I’ll move back here. Sort of stupid but that’s how things work, I guess. They have good deals for new tenants, so there’s that.

After touring multiple facilities today, this location was by far the best! The location is convenient, the facility was the cleanest I’ve seen and well kept inside and out. If you are touring, I hope you get to tour with Ivan! I didn’t have clue what size unit I needed, but Ivan was knowledgeable and patient, showing me multiple options. Ivan and David are a great team at the Washington Avenue CubeSmart which has quietly been directly adjacent my townhouse on Birdsall Street for a few years. Now that I'm moving, I am able to see what they offer up front. They provide a useful service. Almost everything is seamless in the presentation of mutual expectation in this transaction. I wish their business luck, but I don't think they need it to do well. I may update my review to 5 stars at the end of my rental in June pending communication that in my view would demonstrate the difference between the two ratings.

Moved into my unit yesterday. The location is great and covered parking for the loading and unloading was a blessing in the intermittent downpour. Kortni Reynolds is the singularly most helpful person I've had the pleasure of encountering in quite a while. She walked me through everything quickly and helped me figure out how to use the required lock. Very clean and well lit. So why only four stars? Price. It's much higher per square foot than what I paid in the suburbs. Also the requirement to buy insurance or show proof of homeowner's insurance seems just a way to get another $12 per month out of customers. $18 more for the special lock required. $24 admin fee to set everything up to take your money. I'd have looked farther away, but Kortni is such a breath of fresh air that I was willing to pay the extra.

Would leave 5 stars but imagine you are a mobile service tech, an "essential" worker. Imagine covid happening and now no place will let you go inside to quickly use the restroom. Even now. I chose this place because it was clean, i could store things needed for business, AND it has a safe, clean place to use the restroom. Now, THEY have started locking the restroom as well,..giving some excuse about cleanliness. Well,..we pay for it, it is your job, so have the restroom OPEN. Please. And if you store here, clean up after yourselves!!! We as service people do our jobs with the upmost pride and dedication...do not reduce us to animals that have to go outside. Thanks.

This is a great location with great management. Its always clean. Air conditioning works great. And Ivan Espinoza puts the experience over the top, he always greets us and asks if he can help in any way. And keeps us informed on any updates to the building. I highly recommend this place for storage needs, it also has a huge overhang so even if the weather is bad or sun is beating down you can unload easily.

Our unit was burglarized on 10/30/2020. Would leave them a 5 on everything except for this experience. Facility is NOT secure. 2 units were burglarized, police have been notified and there is in active investigation with photos of the burglar entering the property and leaving with our personal things. Staff was apologetic but District Manager Amanda, who toured the property on Wed. prior to the burglary was contacted on 10/30/2020 about the incident, and has never returned our phone call. Staff did not find how burglar entered, I did, I took them out there and showed how a crow bar was used to pry open a door to rob us. Then made them look at after hours video. I found how they entered, an unsecure door with no cameras. Please be careful, double lock your doors. I am very disappointed by upper management, they don't care, all they care about is you contacting your insurance company.

I originally had a reservation at the Shepherd location and told them that same morning I would be there within the next hour. My movers and I show up to the office locked and a sign stating they wouldn’t be back for 30 minutes after I specifically told them I’d be there shortly. More importantly, the store Managers- Kortni Reynolds and Ivan Espinoza really provided great customer service throughout my tenancy at the 5700 Washington Ave. facility. Especially during the last few months of my stay- they were very courteous and helpful when I was late on the July billing and when I had to move out and was unable to complete the move-out on time, they graciously allowed me to complete the move-out a day late and they pro-rated a refund to me when they didn't have to. I appreciated the whole experience and want to thank cubesmart for a great storage experience!! I will be back if I ever need storage again!

Beware of rent increases. Have a 10x10 unit that goes for $113 on the website. In July, they raised my rate to $175 from $154, a 14% increase...during Covid no doubt, when I don't want to deal with moving. Started off at the facility when it was run by Life Storage at $145, a few years back, when there wasn't a new storage facility opening up on every block, which is why my rate was above the current market price to begin with. Let me summarize, they know it is a pain to move, more so during a pandemic, they will use that against you in the future, so if you plan on storing long term, do not use a Cubesmart. Life Storage or Proguard in the area might raise your rent, but it won't be as abusive and offensive as Cubesmart.

If there can be a positive storage unit experience this is it. The units themselves are maybe a bit more expensive than some other unit I looked at, but it was 100% worth the extra money. The building is always clean and cool, and the people that work in the office are friendly and helpful. I also liked that my unit was on the 6th floor, so flood damage was never a worry. Update: I went by this location today to buy boxes for a upcoming move and Ivan was extremely friendly and helpful. He talked me through what kind of boxes I might need for the move and even carried them out to my car for me. Always excellent service!

We moved from out of town, having to put our whole house into storage until new home was ready. Our experience with Ivan was excellent and went smooth. He accommodated our large move in and helped us get the perfect storage space for us. The facility is clean and nicely climate controlled. Quick and nice customer service. Ivan was very thorough and courteous. Clean and fancy high rise storage. I'm on the 7th floor. I chose this storage because of it's discounted price; however, there's all the extra one time fees (that most storage units have anyway - admin fee, new lock because theirs is particular to their units) and they require monthly insurance for the unit. They also have limited access hours, which really ruined my moving plans because I'm bringing things from an hour away and I'm limited on my own time. Overall though, it's nice, organized, and safe.

This is a climate control facility with tons of cameras catching all angles. The building and elevators require a code which is also really nice! I’m giving them 4 stars instead by if 5 because I was told my last month would be prorated but when I moved out, I received no reimbursement for the 23 days left for the month. Aside from that, I would probably use this storage in the future.

I had a wonderful experience at Cube Smart. State of the art facility. Lots of cameras, code to enter elevator and code to go to your floor. Climate controlled and cylinder locks on the units. Even sprinkler system in each unit! Latrice was a pleasure to work with. Very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Showed me several units until we found the perfect one for me. I am so happy that I chose Cube Smart for my storage.

Very helpful and hospitable. We came close to closing time wanting to view some available spaces. Latrice didn't bat an eye. She was completely accommodating and showed us multiple spaces covering ground level to the top floor. She provided all the information we needed to feel comfortable that all our belongings would be protected and safe. The facility itself is immaculate, climate controlled, and key-button entry only. I also appreciate that your code goes only to your level, so not much meandering for the curious. Also, the parking is completely covered, well lit, and monitored. This is our first time with CubeSmart and so far. . . we're digging it. Thank you Latrice!

I went to this location yesterday to inquire about a reservation I made with Life Storage. Much to my surprise it is now CubeSmart. Initially I was a little taken back but as soon as I had an opportunity to work with Ivan and Latrice, I quickly realized that this was where I wanted the storage to be. They are wonderful, despite the fact that they had only been there a day or two and worked with irritated customers with respect and kindness. CubeSmart needs to do everything in their power to keep Ivan and Latrice. I certainly look forward to working with them in the future

Worst experience ever. I showed up with movers and a truck full of furniture on the Friday after Thanksgiving, only to find that the Life Storage office had not removed the administrative lock from my unit. You would think this would not be a problem, except there was no one in the office to address the problem - they were out of the Thanksgiving holiday. So, here I am, paying for movers by the hour, with a truck full of furniture, and no access to my unit. And, to be clear, I had completed all paperwork online (as suggested), and come into the Life Storage office on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, specifically to ensure that the unit was ready for my move on Friday. The Life Storage employee sold me a lock, processed my payment for the first months rent and rental insurance, and assured me that I was "all set." He never offered to show me the unit, which I did not think was a big deal, or mentioned that there was an administrative lock on the unit, which he needed to remove. He just wished me well, and told me that I was good to go. At the end of the day, this snafu caused me lost time with my movers, the headache of having to find a new unit at the last minute, and time in having to get Life Storage to reverse the charges and cancel my contract. It was a horrible experience, and I encourage everyone to stick with the big box, public storage units that are more reliable.

Complimentary handtrucks and can rent a box truck when moving out. If within a certain time frame, box truck is free. It is a pleasure to recommend this company and location to house your valuables. I rented a unit here shortly after it opened and got a great deal for that. The staff was extremely welcoming when I started moving in and explained all the ins and outs of renting at this location. They setup the free moving truck, which was much appreciated. When I chose to vacate, I emptied my unit and left it empty for 2 days before being able to make it back to the office to close out. The manager saw the unit was empty and I was all closed out and would receive no more charges. What a guy!

I chose this location based on the competitive price and high reviews. I have been pleasantly surprised by the customer service before and during my move. Nathan, the Assistant Manager, called in advance to discuss the logistics of my move and put me at ease. He was on site the day of my move to make sure everything went smoothly. I joked that this was clearly not his first rodeo! I am kind of amused by how delighted I am with a storage facility; this place has top rate service and amenities for a reasonable price compared to similar facilities in the area.

Location is convenient while living in the area. Nathan was great to speak with during initial questioning about rates. The three occasions I have interacted with the Store Location Manager it has not been fun. She quickly goes to defensive mode and wants to argue. When asked what can be done about something, she replies with "It's out of my hands, I can't help you". Be careful with the AutoPay setup. After changing credit cards on file I had to return to the location the next month and pay a late fee since whom was behind the computer didn't save my updated payment info. The elevator access and use is a pain if you are storing large items such as mattresses, furniture, mirrors, etc. Only one Freight elevator for the entire location and they fuss at you when you hold the door open to load the elevator for less trips. I would not recommend this facility.

I had a great experience with Life Storage. I only needed a place for a couple of months and was very impressed with the service that I received from Nathan. (I lost both sets of keys to my locks, had movers that were on their way, and he was able to help me out very quickly.) Overall, very clean place with friendly help!

Love the new location on Washington Avenue. I used Uncle Bobs (a different location) in the past, they are trustworthy, honest and their facilities are secure and clean and Call/Voicemails are returned immediately. I always work with Julia, she's extremely helpful. Excellent customer service!
