Update: I moved out of the storage a couple of months ago and had an epic fail with the moving company. They didn’t update my move in both of their systems and they didn’t show up. Sandy and her team jumped right in and gave me a few numbers to call for movers on demand and I was able to secure another moving company same day. She even suggested a great lunch place where I could eat and relax until the movers arrived. Moving can be stressful and I’m appreciative of Sandy especially her empathy and compassion. Sandy and her team are very friendly, extremely helpful, and thorough. I had a smooth move-in (awhile ago) and haven't had any problems up until this point. The facility is climate controlled, secure, and so far a good place to store my items. I was in the store last Saturday (08/05/23) and Sandy's patience and customer service was great, thank you...I had to submit a review!

When they want to sell the space they say it is climate controlled but it is absolutely NOT. Any review saying it is, is either fake or they haven’t yet started using the space. If you store products sensitive to heat, they can go bad. Also it doesn’t get cleaned. If you spot a piece of garbage somewhere in corridors, you will most probably see it again and again in future. The whole space has a heavy bad smell and if you store items without proper sealed boxes you will notice they have absorbed that same bad smell. In addition at the moment of sign up they said when we want to raise your rate we will notify you “several” months in advance!! False. We were notified a few days prior about the raise and it was only a couple of months after we had rented the space.

I got lost in the maze of cubes while looking for mine (went in the wrong entrance door!) and ended up walking all the way back to the front office on the other side of the compound. An employee there (I forget his name unfortunately) actually escorted me all the way to my cube, which was a long walk! He was very nice and helpful. I really appreciated that!

The staff at the Alexandria office are great! The associates that I have interacted with have been extremely professional and provided good customer service. On one occasion, I called this location and upon being directed to voicemail I chose not to leave a message; yet, Nita, the Manager, seeing the missed call and knowing that I was a customer, called me back to see how she could be of service. That is what I call “going above and beyond”. Nita is amazing! On another occasion I was trying to find the best way to handle showing an item that I had stored in my unit to a potential buyer. Out of concern for my safety Nita and 2-other associates took the time to make suggestions, insisting that I bring the item down and stay outside in the open. Additionally, they walked the property with me to show me the best area to stand for line-of-site to the facilities cameras to capture the interaction with the person I would be meeting. Lastly, there is Lavaughn, who listened to my concerns regarding the annual rate increase and called me back as promised the following day to discuss my new rental rates. Good customer service and professionalism (by phone, or in person) is extremely hard to find; therefore, it is nice to know that there are still people out there who work hard and take pride in doing their jobs well.

Derek and everyone at the Eisenhower ave Alexandria, VA location were so helpful and awesome! I was dreading having to move in and out of storage but they made the process so easy. I ended up needing an extra day past my lease and they were super understanding and were able to prorate and charge me just for one extra day rather than an entire month. Thank you! Ps. I stored my stuff at this location for about a year, and had a great experience during move in, throughout, and move-out. It is extremely clean, organized, well-lit, and I experienced great customer service every time I needed something. Easy wide access areas and elevators and plenty of large dollies. Customer service answers the phone promptly and is accommodating and helpful, which is a welcome rarity these days. They were very nice and pro-rated my last month. I know storage units don't want a trash area, but as a tenant it would be nice to be able to throw away at least smaller items. I would be willing to pay a little extra either every month or upon exit for the ability to be able to throw some things away vs trying to put some items in the car and transporting them. Just a thought.

Constantly raising price of the rented unit. While in the process of moving the office processed my checkout and said we do not allow pro-rated rental. We saw you moving therefore we are checked you out. Find another ways to make profit. By raising price and now allowing pro-rated rent will not earn you much revenue but will loose client.

I have had my stuff in storage since May and came down last night from CT to pick it up. The office was only open until 3 and they do not have an after hours number. I get here this morning an hour before the movers are to arrive and see all sorts of damage. Of course the manager is unreachable until 9:30. The insulation fell and it looks like water damage. In addition to the time and m9ney spent on the move, I have now lost a moving deposit.

Easy process! Made the reservation by phone. Greeted by Tim at the door and I checked-in with Montè on-site. Very friendly and knowledgeable guys. Montè changed the location of my unit to a convenient spot at the front building. Paperwork was quick and straightforward. Also, my bf and I were having issues locating a 15ft U-Haul in the area. Montè and Tim went above and beyond by calling U-Haul locations nearby with 15ft truck availablility. Sure enough they found one and provided directions. Now that’s what I call awesome customer service! I feel very happy that my belongings will be at this CubeSmart. Also, if you’re a Harry Potter fan so is Montè!

However, I would not recommend SML, a company listed on CubeSmart’s web site as a partner. They failed to provide labor service as contracted and over promised numerous times as a result of our escalations to SML’s management. The Cubesmart website offered discounts that this location did not honor. Don't believe the email you receive about costs...this location charges more when you show up. Their hallways are too small to fit normal furniture and equipment is old. Find a better Cubesmart or choose another company.

Staff is sweet and kind but clueless and unable to remedy a situation. There is a code to get into the building that has needed to be reset every other time we go. It makes it impossible and very frustrating to get there during office hours to be let in. Security is very low because we have had to jump the fence after hours to get to our unit and nothing happens. We are moving to another storage facility since it's overpriced for the service and facility shortfalls.

As is typical in moves storage for some of your things is needed. I looked at several storage facilities, but was most impressed and eventually choose CubeSmart on Eisenhower Blvd In Alexandria VA for several reason. First, the units were very nice and property and units are immaculate,(as opposed to the competition). The prices were competitive for comparable units, and excellent security. Tim McCarthy themanager and staff were excellent, and though we showed up at closing time on a weekend they went out of there way to show us various units with a great attitude. My choice! M.Bandarra

It's easy to recommend this self storage business to others. The facility itself is convenient, clean and in good shape. The staff as a group were helpful and knowlegeable. We worked with the manager, Tony, to rent a unit, then switched to a larger unit when needed. He is a friendly and professional guy, and he helped make our transition smooth and timely.

I shopped around my whole area, looking for a place that would suit my needs. I was not looking for a climate-controlled setting because I thought that it would be more expensive but I went into CubeSmart on a whim. Not only were the staff attentive and friendly, they, sincerely, appeared to care about my needs and just stayed right with me through every question and never looked distracted or uninterested and never were at a loss for an answer. The other places that I looked were, either, disorganized or, clearly, uninterested. CubeSmart gave me a loaner truck for free and helped me after I had been gone a long time - away from my unit/stuff. Every single thing about my experience with CubeSmart was a real, professional pleasure. I was, and am, surprised and delighted and, absolutely, recommend CubeSmart to anyone looking to store.

All good. I've been a customer for a long time and went to the unit to arrange to close it. With excellent staff support and suggestions, I decided to downsize to a smaller unit. I was able to discard (with staff help), give away, or keep many things, Also, it happens the smaller unit is right by the elevator, which is nice. Cheers! Sky

The manager Kevin is SO willing to help you out and get you moved in as easily as possible - he was helpful, kind, and willing to go the extra mile. The storage was a great price, clean, and easy to load - we would highly recommend it and definitely would use it again.

I researched several climate controlled self-storage facilities in Alexandria and visited them before making a decision. I found the personnel at CubeSmart to be very customer friendly, very knowledgeable and very thorough, both when I first visited it for a "tour" and then when I came back to "move in". Nice, clean facility, excellent security (with separate access controls for the gate and each door to the storage facilities and to the elevators). It was a few dollars more than some of the other facilities I looked at, but well worth the additional amount. Very happy with them so far, although it has been only a couple of days since I started moving things in to the unit.

Fantastic customer service from start to finish. Jennifer, and Tony in particular, were absolutely wonderful - whether by explaining processes to me, providing me with information I needed/requested, or just simply reassuring me that they would take care of everything and make this a stress-free move. They also recommended names of moving companies (one of whom I used to help me with moving) and who were just as fantastic, reliable and professional as CubeSmart. I definitely would recommend them for anyone needing to store their valuables!
