1st customer of the day, I had purchased (5) Medium box's apparently a few days back and needed to switch a few out for a (LARGE) the Agent at the counter named: Christian was "Very Helpful" and answered all my questions that I had, This storage facility accepted the (unused) boxes back without question and I had then purchased (1) Large in its place. if you are seeking a storage facility with the best prices and the best customer service then look no further as you had just found it... Although I am not currently in need of a storage unit at this time, Their customer service as well as their prices makes me want to get one for those (Just incase moments) Lol Great Job you guys!??

The facility itself is great. I showed up with a car full of things to store. I needed to rent through the office due to insurance ( something that you should be able to do on line) . When I arrived the office was closed even though it was during the listed open hours, after about a half an hour of being on the phone I was told the office person was at lunch and it would be 20 minutes until they got back. I ended up wasting about an hour of my Saturday. I understand the person needed to have lunch, although when there is only one person in the office, maybe they should eat in the office and not. leave. At minimum in the hours it should list " closed for lunch from x:xx to x:xx" to avoid having people show up and finding the office closed and not knowing why or when it will open.

The reservation process was pretty easy. Got our code, unit #, and instructions. However, the instructions said the unit would have a seal with a welcome packet inside with the lock. Neither were there. It was quickly resolved with the manager on site, but why not do it the way that was in the instructions? Frustrating, but it worked out.

Would not recommend this location. This place is not a typical Cubesmart as I've had great experiences up until this point. The location of this CubeSmart is completely run down: visible splatter of who knows what on the walls, mice droppings everywhere because people are either living in the units or have/leave food in their storage units (had an infestation prior to moving my stuff in... 2 dead mice!!) which attracts critters. I had to get extra mice traps to prevent any issues because neighboring units had droppings outside of theirs. The team did offer to move me to another unit and $25 off, but at that point, I wasn't willing to re-move all of my things without utility help. Note, there are no utility dolly's onsite due to people stealing them. Update: 7months later and upon walking up to my hallway I knew it was bad. Chewed up paper everywhere in the hall and once I opened up my unit I counted over 12+ dead baby mice and 1 alive. My items had holes in the boxes + urine stains + poop droppings. Very disgusting and disappointed by. Glad to be done /out of this location.

still 1 star since new ownership. rent is increased every couple of months and is now over $100 more per month than when we originally rented. all of our baby stuff and other stuff we stored here is now covered in mouse poop, some of it we can’t use at all and had to replace. i called to tell them and they offered me $25 off, to which I asked if they knew how much any of the items I described cost to replace. woman on the phone said she would contact her manager about doing more for us. then we never heard from them again. Sold to new owners with no notice. New contract limits the value of what you can put in the unit to $5000.

I am a repeat customer and would recommend Holly Hill storage to anyone looking for a storage unit in the Alexandria area. The facility is is super clean, the staff is extremely helpful and free use of their box truck for move in is a great bonus that you won’t get anywhere else. These guys are are awesome, don’t store your stuff anywhere else!

i was moving into this place over several days as i only have a small compact car. There was no mention of a free truck. Over several days and a couple of times each day i would move my stuff. Knowing i rented a place I was accosted by 2 older caucasian men asking what i am doing. I explained the situation and he told me this place is not for going in and out of daily due to wear and tear on metal doors and concrete floors. He told me i needed to be out at the end of the month. Next time i went there was a letter stating i had to leave. He also told me this is a high crime area and not to trust anyone especially those kind of people. I would hate to think this has something to do with the color of my skin.

We've used Holly Hill Storage numerous times for various storage needs for the last 12+ years. The place is clean, the management is super helpful and efficient and the prices are the best I've found. There are several places closer to home, but we keep coming back. Good customer service goes a very long way.

Great storage place! I rented two units here with no problems. Security on the property is great, and the staff always is keeps everything meticulous. Biz and Chip are the best, very professional. Holly Hill storage won us over with the best customer service I have seen in a long time. We were actually on our way to an appointment with public storage when we saw the sign for Holly Hill. I pulled over, gave them a call and they had me at "free truck"! Biz was extremely helpful and friendly, spelling out every detail and making sure that we understood the agreement. The units are clean and security is a top priority here. I am so glad that there are still a few family owned businesses around.

Very good experience. Moving is stressful but it is much LESS so when the staff have a good attitude and go the extra mile to help you. These folks do. Easy to deal with, safe, well-lit, clean and very reasonable rates. Have had some bad experiences in the past at 2 larger storage facilities in VA but I've been very happy with Holly Hills. Glad to be supporting a local business.

Im moving to VA from MD and this storage was recommended to me. It is hands down the smoothest process of my move. I called and was immediately able to come look at a unit and sign a lease. Very clean and affordable. There were no hidden fees like when i went to public storage when the price online was $136 and then i get there and it was over $200. The price i was told by Holly Hill when i checked out the unit was the price it was going to be. Then for getting a new unit I was told i get to use a truck for free, you just fill the gas back up. Then i realized i needed another unit and it was another smooth process with the unit move in and the truck was available to use that same day for my one time use for a new unit. Hands down the best storage unit you will find.

Price is the great, also the staff was on point. I stored my stuff there while I was training in Colorado for 4 months, and when I came back I had some of my guys help out. I entered through the main gate but my guys double-backed a little too late and had to pass through the access on the right on foot, the attendant quickly came out and confronted them and asked if they were with me. I appreciate the vigilance and definitely recommend them for storage given then level of service and care I've received.

Ridiculous Service! Very unprofessional and uncourteous. If they had a option for no stars that's what exactly this company deserves. The staff was disoriented and had to many unnecessary rules that didn't make sense. I wasn't sure if I was at a storage unit or a library. The staff speaks to you rude and shouldn't be running any type of business with their nasty actions. I do not recommend this storage unit to anyone one! Take your business across the street or else where!

I’ve had a great experience with Holly Hill Self Storage in Alexandria for storing our extra stuff. We’ve had a storage unit there for about 3 years. The location is very convenient, on Route 1 a couple of miles south of the Beltway. We have a storage unit just the size we needed – not too large or too small. I feel that our stuff is being stored safely and securely. Access through the gate is overseen by the on-site managers and there are video monitors all over the place. I really like that Holly Hill Storage is not a big box, storage operation. I prefer to do business with local folks when I can. All of my dealings with the on-site managers have been pleasant and helpful. They seem to be able to greet all of their customers by name. My experience here has been uniformly positive.

Horrible storage facility. Water leaked into our unit and mold grew on our stuff. They raised our rates with no notification and then would not refund us for the last 23 days of the month even though we are on military orders. He stated he did not know what military orders were or meant. I asked to speak to the owner of the facility and the employee replied that the owner was not at the facility. I then asked to speak to the owner over the phone and the employee replied he did not have any way to contact the owner. 5 minutes later I requested to maintain my unit rather than check out of it and the employee refused to reinstate me on my storage unit. When ever my wife called to inquire about anything, the employee was always rude to her. The security gate has remained open for the last three weeks and the facility has always remained filthy throughout the year we rented a storage unit from them. In one facility we had water issues and in both buildings we maintained units in we had issues with spiders, roaches and centipedes. The month we departed, we observed poison rat traps and large glue traps. I would rather pay a higher rate then go back to this facility. The only reason we did not move to another storage facility was due to 700 pound safe that was in the unit.
