We originally rented a 10 x 15 x 8 Storage unit from CubeSmart, Dumfries, VA in June 2022. We eventually downsized to a 5 x 5 unit in January 2023. Today we closed our storage unit here at CubeSmart. Over the past 2 years, we have found this place to be extremely friendly, very professional and always helpful. The building was climate controlled, kept very clean and the video surveillance of the property helped keep the place and the renters safe. If you need a storage unit, we highly recommend this place.

CubeSmart, Dumfries, Virginia - The two units I rented from CubeSmart for over 3 years were supposed to have provided a climate controlled environment. Most of the items I had in storage at the Dumfries, VA CubeSmart were removed contaminated with mold growing and or extensive musty smell like they were stored in a wet, damp, dark, musty basement. I never dreamed that I would be removing my personal effects from storage in such deplorable conditions. I had several lamb and leather coats that had mold growing on them and canvas oils and artwork boarders that were destroyed and I had to replace. I had thousands of dollars worth of brand new high end - clothing, linens, pillows, towel…that damaged and not salvageable. Other items required me to have to spend over two weeks and taking away hours upon hours of my time washing and rewashing and rewashing items in laundry detergent, bleach, and chemicals designed to try to counteract the offensive smell of mold/ must smell. There was no evidence of water damage. The lack of climate control and excessive humidity control contributed to this issue. I would never recommend CubeSmart to anyone!!!

I have lost count how many times I have informed the office that the elevators in the building needs services. Oh well, I want to the storage to get clothes for church and also take out a few things. When I got there, customer were outside and inside the building and both elevators in the building were not in working condition. I call the office number hoping to get the off hours support, off course no one answered. The management of this storage is by far the most ridiculous that I have seen in a while. This storage was not this poorly management in the capacity it is in now prior tocube smart taking over. I am actually looking around for a better storage to move my stuff to in the next week or so.unbelievable!!!!

If you are looking for a storage facility that accommodates having a great controlled climate, good air ventilation, very clean, reasonable price ranges, and excellent customer service... well this is the place to visit; therefore, come to Self Storage Zone. While this may sound like an infomercial, I have truly enjoyed the service that was provided for me when I did my move-in. Staff members, Kelsie and Lisa, did a fantastic job. I'd originally came here in late December, and it was Kelsie who'd assisted me and she was very friendly and informative. Things came up within the meantime on my behalf so I decided not to get a unit right away, and then I told them that I will probably return either the month of May or June. As I had promised, I returned on the first week of June confirming reservations that I made online. Kelsie responded and confirmed my scheduled move-in date. In addition, I felt like I’ve personally known her for years when we had small conversations so that was an awesome thing for me. Everything was handled properly and was consistent. The process for renting a moving truck also went smooth and did not require a lot of time. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

I’ve been with self storage zone in Dumfries va and they have been very helpful during the time of COVID-19 and with the fact it took a toll on the economy they’ve been very understanding of the toll it’s taken on all Americans I highly recommend them

Relocated to Dumfries, Virginia Summer of 2019 - I moved from a little over 3 hours away and I was able to get the first three months half off along with the use of their moving truck (only had to pay for gas and mileage which was WAY cheaper than it would have been if I had rented from Uhaul). They also extended the hours for me to have the truck back. So accommodating. Nice, clean storage facility and I love the friendly reminder calls when my bill is due. You are appreciated! Thank you!!

We recently moved from another storage company that was more expensive and kept raising their prices unannounced. The transition was very pleasant, all the staff is helpful and friendly. The facility is super clean and well maintained. Kudos to Kelsie and Lisa! We are happy with our decision!!

Recently moved to the Dumfries area, found this facility and I’m glad I did. The front desk lady was SUPER HELPFUL! I’m very big on customer service, and she met all my expectations! Gave me all the info I needed to know, showed me different types of units and helped me pick the one that would be perfect for my needs. Price is affordable, and overall the facility is clean! Would definitely recommend!
