The facility is clean and prices are good. Recently, the elevator went down the day after I got my unit. It was down for a week and I couldn’t access my unit. I tried resolving this with the online chat. I tried calling. CubeSmart advertises having “award-winning customer service,” but I saw no evidence of it. I went into the office after a week of being unable to access my unit to ask for my money back. I was never going to work with CubeSmart again. Alexis got me sorted. I stayed because Alexis resolved my issues kindly and efficiently. If you read this, Store Manager, you need to give Alexis a raise. Alexis knows how to take care of customers

Been using this facility for several years. Survived one sprinkler system failure/flood. Came by today during business hours. No one in office. No sign. No nothing. Called the 800 number to pay. Not willing to pay a ridiculous convenience fee. So I get to wait. Apparently the manager "forgot" to put up a sign. Seriously? Think I'll be looking elsewhere for storage. Suggest others do the same.

Great location, spacious units, very secure, and extremely friendly and knowledgeable associates! We worked with Ronaldo Martinez at this location. He explained everything in full detail, gave us a tour of the site plus our unit, so we know exactly what we are purchasing. He’s extremely personable and such a great person to work with! You are able to set a reservation online (which was 35% off original pricing), they have 2 options for insurance (personal or one of the three they provide), there is a one time $24 administrative fee (start up/activation), and options to purchase a lock ($18) or bring your own. The parking lot is only accessible with a personal code and are spacious. Carts are provided by the location to assist with moving your things. 10/10 Highly Recommend this location & company!!

I was very impressed with the manager at the Herndon, VA facility. I had found a car storage facility that was less expensive that could not let me know until closer to the date if there was an available spot for my car. The manager worked with me to hold a space in case I could not reserve a space at the other storage facility. All though I did not end up getting a spot at CubeSmart, the manager contacted me when he said he would to learn the status of my other possible reservation and was very professional, even when I told him that I would not be reserving a spot. Due to his professionalism and consistency in customer service, I would definitely call and reserve a spot there if I could not get one that was less expensive.

Adam Piner at your store 0596 is truly a gem. I'm going thru a challenging divorce with 4 children, and my spirit has been low lately. I have met Adam twice now, and his positive energy, wit, and professionalism is by far the best I've seen. I also have a unit with Public Storage in Herndon that made an error in my auto debit with them when I opened, but refused to take ownership when I came to the office. The 'manager' there said he wasn't authorized to refund fees, and coldly directed me to corporate, who has not since returned my email. I missed several payments with you (completely my error due to poor focus lately), and Mr. Piner has been more than gracious with me. I have no issues paying late fees for errors I've made, and am super impressed with your team at store 0596. When I could not be contacted, Mr. Jones contacted my fiance, within hours of my original post, to understand our concerns. He provided excellent customer service and attempted to resolve the numerous issues we experienced over the past year. Mr. Jones demonstrated true professionalism, genuine concern, and understanding. For that reason, I am now rating 5-stars. Thank you for your assistance, Mr. Jones. Poor customer service for active duty service members using their facility. Disheartening that such a seemingly nice facility lacks the customer service or understanding of the needs of active duty members overseas using their facility.

UPDATE! After two years, we're moving out of the area and cleaned out our cube on McLearen road. Our entire experience here has been great, we've never had any issues with our unit, access, billing, service, etc. Thank you!!!! Excellent tour and introduction to the facility, which is clean and well maintained. Friendly and helpful staff. Amazingly, over the few weeks we've been using the unit, we're always able to find a cart when we need it (chuckle). We appreciate the piped-in music and lack of flickering or burned-out lightbulbs in the corridors. We're new to CubeSmart, but so far, so good!

My family and I found our dream home before we sold our current home. In light of this, we were in a scramble get our home ready to put on the market. After doing a Google search, we narrowed down 4 storage facilities that were located within a one mile radius of our home. Important factors for us were: 1) Condition of the facility 2) Rental option pricing 3) Cleanliness After driving by each of the 4 facilities, we chose CubeSmart on McLearen Road in Herndon. As you drive into the location, you can sense it has been updated or looks modern. A tour confirmed that it was clean and tidy and we could leave our belongings without headache. I've heard that storage rental places have a "poor reputation" for poor customer service and quality, but I did not have that experience. Michaela and Mitch, warmly greeted me, repeatedly offered me something warm to drink (I was suffering from laryngitis) and took an interest in helping me. Michaela explained the different size units and proactively shared all special pricing options currently available. I took comfort in knowing that there is someone that resides on the premises to oversee the property. Further, she actively walks the premises to make sure everything is in order. While I understand there is nothing "sexy" about renting a storage unit, the pleasant experience I had at this CubeSmart made me want to sit down and post my experience and encourage you to consider renting from them. Sometimes, its these small things that make the difference - it did for me. Hope you find this review helpful and good luck!

I've used several storage facilities in this area, and this is by far the best. This is owed mostly to the owners, who are friendly, supportive, detail-oriented, and they live on site, so help is never far away. Michaela showed us around the facility, including all the routes to our rental area and what we would encounter along the way. It was clean, secure, and had music playing softly overhead. After some trouble (our fault) with the autopay enrollment, Michaela was also very helpful and kind in reminding us and getting us caught up. I recommend this facility to anyone needing storage.

I don't usually write reviews, but this is an extraordinary exception. I rented an inside unit and was a customer for 12 years. In that time I may have opened the unit twice. Recently I finally emptied the unit and was so pleased to see no creepy things lurking in wait. There was some dust and a few dead things, but nothing that prevented me from entering the unit. I was VERY impressed with how clean the building was and the condition of my belongings. The management was great to work with and should I need to store things again, this will be the place. Thank you for 12 great years.

I was surprised with the extent of the service I received.... IT WAS THE BEST I'VE EVER RECEIVED IN MY LIFE! NO LIE! And I've had a lot of customer service experiences. I'm not easily impressed, but this place has me so impressed that I'm writing this review. I haven't reviewed any other company, well not GOOD reviews anyways. Michaela (manager) is the ABSOLUTE GREATEST! She went above & beyond for me. It was almost midnight when I returned with my things to put into my newly purchased unit. She saw that I was having issues gaining entry into the gate, which I didn't know she had seen me. Like a Godsend, the gate opened. She did whatever she had to do to open the gate, which I believe she had to LEAVE her home at THAT hour to go into the office to do this. She immediately called me to let me know she had seen I couldn't get in & was at the computer trying to find out what the problem was with my entry code. She even offered her & her husband to help me unload my things to make it easier. Everything she did was to make it as easy as possible for ME. TRULY ABOVE & BEYOND! I strongly recommend that you simply CALL OR VISIT CubeSmart in Herndon for ANY storage need, & THEY ARE, OR WILL BE THERE!!

Quick, easy process to rent storage. Very, VERY minor complaint inasmuch as you have to make sure you press the very middle of each key as you type in your password for access, but it's not super-difficult. Facilities are clean. Staff is friendly. Nothing more needed to say.

After comparing prices with other storage facilities online, I decided to check out CubeSmart first, as it seemed to offer the best value. I was right. What I did NOT expect, was the outstanding level of service that Michaela and Kevin provided. I would not have cared if I was just given a random storage unit, since the price is right, but I Michaela happily escorted me all over the facility, and found a unit that was very easy to access from the loading dock. On top of all this, I didn't realize that the use of their moving truck is also free, AND I got my first month free AND a 15% monthly discount for 6 months! What else can I say?

I do not write reviews but had to this time because my experience was absolutely wonderful. I needed to move my household goods into storage for a short time. I inquired concerning the minimum amount of time I had to lease the cube because I only need it for a week or two. I advised them of the same and from their actions you would have thought I would be leasing several units for several years. Even though I need the unit for less than a month, I was able to take advantage of the special promotion (15% off plus a free 1st month of storage). The special applied even though I only need the cube for less than a month. It gets better...I was able to use their truck to move my household goods for free. I had the pleasure of working with Kevin and Michaela in the front office and they are crazy helpful and nice and made a really stressful process easy. I am so appreciative for their awesome customer service. They definitely go over and above to take care of you. They treat you like family.

Darren and Mikayla have been awesome to work with. I run my small business out of this location and receive shipments every single day. With no issues they place the boxes in my unit so that I know they're in a secure location. I know for a fact my business wouldn't be doing nearly as well if I did not have access to a great storage facility as well as an even better staff.

from the first day I met with Darren Kluz to working with Michaela during the following months, the experience has been nothing if not fantastic. The facility is spotless, the security system secure and the interaction with this team has been outstanding. We will definitely recommend this facility and company to all our family, friends and anyone looking for a great storage option.

From the online reservation to the in-store process, the service we received from this storage facility was far beyond our expectations. Darren, the area manager, quickly but thoroughly got us through the rental process and made sure we knew how to use the doors properly for access. The morning we arrived, we had precious little time to get the unit and get our boxes in so the smooth and quick process was GREATLY appreciated. Both the person I spoke with on the phone to confirm the reservation and Darren were extremely friendly, informative, and patiently answered all our questions. As we were unloading/loading boxes, Darren even brought us bottled water! I cannot say enough good things about our experience here. I've dealt with other storage companies and the customer service here is bar none. Highly recommended.

Very helpful and polite staff; they are always willing to do what is best for you and work with you instead of just trying to get another spot rented out. Also very helpful with things other than giving you a storage unit; such as telling you about the area, good places to live (I was new to town) and good moving companies. Also had no problem helping me get a smaller storage unit when we didn't need such a big one. Definitely care about their customers here.

Staff was very helpful! I needed to consolidate units and was able to do it very quickly. Instead of needing to make a return trip to sign paperwork that was coming from headquarters, the representative came out to my car to tell me I could sign right then and there. Thanks so much!

Excellent service and more than accommodating. Both Darren and Stephanie deserve huge kudos. I recently moved to a smaller unit on the same floor. I was there long enough that I used the ladies room. It was the nicest & cleanest "public" restroom I've seen in...eons. I am entirely and thoroughly..... impressed.

When I started my search for a storage facility I intended to check out 2 or 3 different locations before making my decision. My first stop was CubeSmart in Herndon, VA, and that's as far as I needed to go. Darren Kuntz, Area Manager, briefed me on the benefits of CubeSmart and conducted a very through tour of the property. He was professional, knowledgeable and very personable. He made my decision easy and I'm glad I signed that day.
