Highly Recommend for everyone, but especially for military in the area. We rented a storage unit to prepare for PCSing, and the whole process was very smooth. Robin & Lynn were wonderful to work with and very friendly, knowledgable and helpful any time I had questions or concerns. Even when the movers finally came, they let us know that if needed they could have others move/block off parking so they could accommodate the size of the truck if needed. The hours of access are convenient and the facility is very secure! Definitely recommend it — the only thing to be aware of is the restrooms are only accessible when the staff is available as the access box is currently out of order but other than that small thing everything else is a breeze!!

Wonderful customer experience every time I came in. Robin was especially helpful when it came to cutting my lock, maintaining connection and reminding me of payments. The security is also top notch and the facility required no risky paperwork buying you into some crazy commitment. As soon as I said I wanted to leave I signed one piece of paper and I was gone.

I am beyond pleased with cube storage on tidewater. You can’t beat the cost, the location and ease of use of the facility. Their hours are convenient for me since i work during the day (open until 10pm!). Lynn and Robin were both super helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend them to anyone. UPDATE 9/4/24 I left The above review, when I first moved into CubeSmart. Now, four months later I am still just as pleased with their customer service and friendly staff. When moving can be such a pain CubeSmart makes it just a little bit smoother and easier. You will not regret choosing them over a larger chain As here they treat you like a human being.

They charge you a late fee,when you are not late...they don't refund your overpayment bc of their mistake and ONLY give a credit..I change storage bc I was very dissatisfied with their services...they didn't give me my owed $10.00..Only said I can have credit IF I COME BACK...I DONT RECOMMEND CUBESMART ON TIDEWATER DRIVE AND WILL NOT BE GOING BACK THERE.

Getting a rental from cubesmart storage was a very easy and fast process. If I could leave no stars I would!!! My things were stolen out of my storage unit over two months ago… The lady told me she found my storage open on Friday at 12pm. NO ONE GOT IN CONTACT WITH ME UNTIL SATURDAY AT ALMOST 2pm. How does that even make sense!!! The claim adjuster has been trying to get in contact with them! No one answers the phone for her then they lied about she didn’t leave a callback number when in reality she did !!! Nothing has been resolved. I’m super frustrated with this company!!! It’s crazy because it’s alway someone there!! How are you too busy to pick up the phone when someone is calling. It’s pointless to get insurance if they not going to pay or be cooperative with the insurance company!!!!

Do not get me wrong, it is a great place to store your items but it is wayyyyy too expensive. I am a college student and guess how much I pay for a 5x5? I pay $84 a month. It was $80 at first and then all of a sudden I got an email that the price would go up. I did not want to store my things under them, but at the time, I was in a tough spot and nowhere was available or 'as' convenient. The people that work there are generally cool and rather friendly, but once I find somwhere more affordable for my things, I have to move out. In my opinion, $84 is way too much for a 5x5 space, maybe not to others, but I know my circumstance. I've been paying $84 for a year now, imagine how much money I could have saved up paying half the price elsewhere or something.

Superb customer service, And no, no one paid me for this review but my experience was soooo pleasant that it was only right. I interacted with 3 different staff members between the two locations and everyone was very helpful. I was originally supposed to move in on a Saturday but Mother Nature was not on my side. I inquired about getting the truck rental on the Sunday however, it was booked at the Norfolk location. Jennifer Got in contact with the Chesapeake location and I was able to use their truck. The paperwork was smooth and fast. I would absolutely recommend this company for anyone looking for a storage unit. The prices are very affordable compared to their competitors.

I felt that the prices for units were reasonable. The staff I interacted with were professional and friendly. The building itself was clean and free of debris. I had no issues getting into the unit to move items to/from the unit itself. The moveout process was extremely easy with no hiccups. The only minor issue I had that really was not much of an issue is that during the work day it was difficult to hear the button pushes on the security panels when music was playing. There are plenty of carts to move your items. Yes, there is a truck you can borrow for up to a certain amount of time, and you only have to put back the gas you used. The elevators in the newer section are awesome, and my kids loved to try to peel the stickers off the new elevator walls. Overall, a great experience. If I were staying in the area and needed some storage, I would use Tidewater Drive Storage Center over other venues.

I highly recommend Tidewater Drive Storage. As a tenant for a few years I had multiple interactions with the staff and frequent visits to the location. The facility was always very clean and secure. Communication was never an issue as I was able to reach and engage management whenever necessary. Automatic billing was not an issue. On one occasion my billing card expired and I was able to contact management and remedy the issue expeditiously. The new addition to the facility looks great although it was not open prior to me vacating my unit. If you need a quality storage solution Tidewater Drive Storage is a great choice. I would unquestionably utilize this service again.

The ppl were very courteous. Very accommodating . The owner was there on one occasion, I had suffered a broken back, and he offered me water, but they all do. He offered to help me. We needed a large storage space ASAP. Upon calling, I spoke with Lynn. She was friendly, helpful, and thorough. She reserved a unit for us and the following day we made arrangements to make use of the moving truck on the next day. When we arrived with our first load and backed in to the loading bay, she came out to let us know that there was liquid leaking from the truck. Something had spilled in the drive over and got everywhere. Without hesitating, she was out there putting oil dry down to absorb the liquid and odor. We began to assist and told her we were going to immediately buy cleaning products to take care of it. She was calm and kind and continued to help us. I have never experienced the kind of help she gave us at any facility and we have been renting spaces since the 90s. The facility is clean, well-lit, and has security cameras throughout. It is worth the drive to store out here. You won't get this level of service at any other facility. I would highly recommend them!

Went on an underway after attempting to change the payment method(unsuccessfully, so it was past due, my fault but still) and came back to emails about them calling JAG and threatening me instead of just overlocking or even auctioning the unit like they would do to a civilian. If I could give 6 stars, I would! The staff could not be more accommodating. Moving can be stressful but putting our things in storage was so smooth. The facility is very clean, there is a covered area to unload in case of rain, they even have a truck you can borrow to move larger items. I love the that the units are climate controlled. I had a great experience at Tidewater Storage. The manager Lynn was great. She was prompt, polite, and very helpful. I had to coordinate a military move with a pickup from Tidewater Storage, and Lynn helped me the entire way.I would recommend renting here for storage to anyone.

I left my belongings here when my ship left for deployment. I was able to store all my belongings at a more than reasonable price in a climate controlled storage room with plenty of space for my bed, bike, desk, and other belongings. Staff is pretty helpful but can be painfully intrusive. I would recommend this to any Navy service members if they need a place to store their belongings worry free.

It's easy to use, climate controlled, and safe 24/7 and in a very convenient location for all of Norfolk! Love getting to use the moving truck when needed and paying my account online! Everyone was very very nice and helpful! I Needed to secure a unit in a hurry for a short amount of time, and the staff was extremely accommodating. The facility is incredibly well maintained and clean, and exceptionally secure. Having a covered loading area is a big win. They allow you to rent a moving truck for a 5 hour block upon move in for free, which was very helpful! I would recommend this business to anyone needing storage long or short term. I shopped and visited five different storage facilities around where I live. There were pretty substantial differences in facilities, security, and price. Tidewater Drive Storage Center had everything I was looking for even though the price was a little higher than the competitors. Facility is super secure, modern, clean, covered loading area, easy access units, good climate control, and very well maintained. Office area is professional and the staff were super friendly and helpful. They were the only ones that didn't try to high pressure sell me and were up front with the costs which didn't include a bunch of hidden extra fees like many of the others did. Outside of the security and cleanliness of the facility itself, it was the staff that really sold me. I genuinely felt they were watching out for their clients and keeping everything safe and secure there. That piece of mind was worth the extra money. You can find cheaper but you won't find better than what Tidewater Drive Storage Center has to offer.

Maya, the manager that assisted me is a gem. She was helpful and friendly. I saw her interact with other customers and offer outstanding customer service. The benefit of getting a truck free to move in my things is what sold me on this place originally. You only have to put gas on it before you return it. It was a whopping .93$...so definitely worth it. You can refer customers and receive a $50 reward, even if you no longer have a unit with them! Awesome offers, convenient spot! 5 stars!!!

Prior to my move from Florida to VA, I was searching for a storage unit near our new home. This one happened to be less than a half-mile away and seemed clean and affordable. When I finally arrived, and was able to reserve my unit I was overly pleased with the cleanliness of the building and the great customer service we received. It was also a plus that they offered truck rental services at no additional costs. The units here are a bit pricier than what I paid in Florida, but I'm saving a few coins with the Military discount so I cant complain too much. Overall, great place to store your junk safely!

The price is right and they have great deals for short & long term storage. So glad they have climate control but if you don't need climate control you have that option also. Great customer service but they do not do pro-rated anything. My payment was due July 26, but you have to move out the day prior. So because of that, I had to pay full price for the month that I'm not even using. To make it a softer blow, I was told to refer people to get $50 checks sent to me. Yeah, about that. Again, great Customer Service, just wish they'd have Pro-rated fees so I didn't have to pay full price for 3 hours.

Super clean facility & the accommodations are nice , They advertise a free truck but you only really get it for 4 hours so be prepared ! Mia told us for the size unit we recieved we would have it for two four hour time slots but she counted us helping our friend move as our time . Mia also made rude comment to me regarding me husband & his friend , saying " thank goodness you are here , I just can't deal with them " when really they were just asking normal questions . Everyone else is very pleasant

I have been a customer of Tidewater Storage for almost two years. My experience the entire time has been great! I moved my belongings into Tidewater Storage because I was moving out of town. I never worried about anything happening to my belongings. In fact, I received a call from the ladies in the office that after visiting VA and going to my storage unit, I did not securely lock my unit. They called my contact person who called me to let me know they were trying to reach me. We took care of it right away. I truly appreciated their customer service (which is a pet peeve of mine). The ladies in the office are friendly, caring and professional (as well as funny). I would recommend Tidewater Storage to anyone for their pricing, cleanliness and customer service.

Great facility and security! It's nice and clean with helpful flatbeds or handtrucks. I've been with TDS for a few years and have had no real issues. Staff has always been pleasant and helpful! They have helpful text and email reminders for billing due dates, but no bending for late or unexpected issues. Overall great but pay on time!!

I usually don't write reviews, I'd rather read them lol ; but the services provided at this place is phenomenal! I only needed a storage unit for one month, and came to this location because of finances (can't beat a climate controlled unit, clean, safe, and a free moving truck!). Not only the prices were great, the staff was even better (well, I only met one- Mia). She was inviting, very knowledgeable as far as the my unit size needs, and professional yet personal. I would definitely refer others to this place. You can tell she takes pride in her work and of the facility. The only thing that I personally do not like about the facility (which is simultaneously a GREAT thing depending on how you look at it) is that you have to punch in your code to access every little thing!!! ... I understand it's for extra security and that one can appreciate that; however, when you have to punch the code in to enter the building from the outside, then punch it in to access the sliding doors in the loading dock, and finally punch it in again to access the elevators, it can get a little frustrating when moving in and out repetitively. BUT AGAIN, it is a GREAT thing knowing that my belongings are safeguarded by the facility and its staff. I ended up staying in there another month for that same reason.

This facility is wonderful! After looking at several facilities, I choose this one because of the incredible security, cleanliness, and the great staff. I used the facility for 7 months while living away from the area, and I never had to worry if my unit was okay. Whenever I needed anything, I just had to call and all of my questions were answered. Mia was wonderful with making arrangements from everything from building security to moving out! I will never use another facility!

I had my belongings stored here for two months and from the moment I first walked in the door, I knew that I was making a right choice by leaving my stuff here. I was worried about finding a safe, clean storage center where I could leave my items for a year and not have to worry. I was immediately relieved when I found Tidewater Drive Storage Center. Getting signed up and assigned a unit was a breeze due to the professional and courteous front office staff. Mia and Jessie were phenomenal and efficient. Even when I had to cancel my card to which my automatic payments were connected, they were immediately understanding and worked with me to get the situation adjusted. I wasn't charged any retaliatory fees and we fixed it without a hiccup. This is by far the best option for storing items in Hampton Roads. Thank you!

The facility is always immaculate and our stuff is in great shape (we've used climate controlled storage). I've lived across the country and overseas, and have always had reliable email communications, and everything is done right the first time.
