CubeSmart is just greedy. I had a 10x10 unit at their Nansemond Pkwy location just west of 664. They raised their prices on me 3 times inside a year, have restricted access times, and no lighting inside the units. When I asked about the increases, I was literally told it was “because they have the right to do so”. I also have the right to tell them to go do themselves… So I did. I found a new MyStorage unit around the corner on Shoulders Hill Rd that was brand new, cheaper, 24 hour access, and the units are lighted. Why anyone would go to CubeSmart is beyond me .

Great price to lure you in and THEN THEY WILL JACK THE PRICE UP significantly higher than inflation/cost of conducting business. That's the Cube Smart Way. Here's my rates over last year: -$198 December 2023 -$246 February 2024 (25% increase) -$302 October 2024 (23% increase in 6 months and 52% increase in 10 months) Staff was friendly and responsive. Military discount of 5%. Conditioned area was a bit hotter than I would've thought during the summer. Place was clean. There was a light in the unit.

We've had two inside storage units here for several years. The climate control aspect has gone way downhill. It is well above 80 degrees right now in both buildings we have units in, and the temperature outside is in the low 70s. I tried calling the office about it, but could not reach anyone. We will probably have to move if they don't fix this issue. We completely understand climate control just means maintaining temps between a certain hot and cold range, but this place is too hot and stuffy for sure compared to other places around the area.

It was a pleasure to rent a storage from CubeSmart. Rosalyn welcomed my brother and myself with two different storages, which was awesome! She answer all our questions and was pleased to show us our rental units. She made us feel comfortable and at ease, because we had just lost our mother and we had to put her things in storage immediately. Rosalyn is a great access to your company. I have been a client for approx 6 months now, today during my visit to rent a second storage unit at the Suffolk location the computer system shut down abruptly. Stephanie the customer service rep handled the situation with grace and professionalism, she took down my info promising a call back when systems are running again, Stephanie also clearly and politely communicated to the other customer with two small children the situation and the remedy, she also took her information down and promised a call back. I was promptly called the same day and as promised my transaction was completed in a timely manner. Stephanie handled a difficult situation out of her control very well. 5 stars

My first time ever using a storage unit and if I had to use a storage unit again I would use climate control to help with the moisture and mold. Secondly Spiders Spiders Spiders & Spiders I killed a black widow and the woman across from me killed a black widow other than that I had zero issues. Customer service is great from the staff the parking lot are easy to maneuver the 26” Uhaul. They just need to switch to climate control.

Came here to make a payment today. Google says they close at 6pm. Door sign says they close at 6pm. Yet the sign says closed, lights are out and not an employee in sight. I call the number on the door and I'm told by a representative that employees often leave earlier than closing time because customers hold them up until 8pm. So essentially this company has zero integrity and they treat paying customers as disposable. Good to know.

I've had a 10x15 here for 2 years and just closed out. Michael, who works the front, has alwasy been more than accommodating as I travel for work a lot and even helped me close out my unit without being present. He even personally helped me with some damage, caused by myself, when he clearly has no responsibility to do so. I would absolutely rent from here again!

The manager Michael was extremely helpful and explained everything in regards to the rental. He made the check in quick and easy. The facility is very clean and well maintained. The unit I rented was squeaky clean and ready for us when we arrived (I reserved the unit online and Michael contacted me within 24hrs to see if I had any questions and to verify my move date). Again nice clean facility and friendly helpful staff.

This storage company went up on my unit and I was only with them 7 months. This is not good for business. I will be looking for another storage company. I went from paying $110 to $151 with a 30 day email notice. The sweet lady that works there couldn’t even explain why. I did this review 3 year and guess what the storage unit is $225 now. I haven’t had any issues but the price goes up every 6 months. I have free time now I can look at some other places. I really hate doing reviews on another business! The office staff is always good they just say it’s Someone in New York that does the pricing

Mike and Kim are very friendly and explained everything so it was easy to understand. -- I moved 700 miles and needed to secure a 5-BR house full of belongings until I could find a new house. They were very accommodating and worked with me because there was only one unit left in the size I needed, and you can't reserve the space that far in advance. The rapid rental feature on their website saves a lot of time. Moving is stressful, but for the storage aspect they put me at ease.
