Courtney, the desk representative, was very helpful. The storage unit was easy to access - even on a holiday! Only complaint was that I didn’t realize the main office was several miles away from the main storage area, and I wish that would have been more clear upfront. Someone may very well have told me that, and I wasn’t paying enough attention. Overall, a great experience.

Units are not at the same location as the office. Regardless of what you sign up for online, you get the same rate by just going to the office. They give you a gate code but I have yet to see if it works because the gate is always open (even at midnight/1am) If you do not have the correct lock for your unit when you sign for it, they will have you purchase one, and it’s not even a new lock, it is one that is already inside the unit. I would say they are reasonably priced for the area. I have never felt unsafe or like my unit was unsafe, just don’t like the fact the gate is never locked when it should be.

Terrible. Buyer beware!! Look elsewhere. The customer service don’t explain anything well. Lots of surprised after you sign up. Was chewed out by the manager at the facility for not picking up a key. Just awful service. Rude people. Tons of extra fees. Lots of other options out there.

Roof leaked twice - unrecoverable loss to photo albums, paintings, furniture, TVs, and kids artwork from their school years. They then raised my rent while our items were still wet. Literally, the single worst business experience I’ve had in my 58 years. Go anywhere else - this company literally offered no support, understanding nor financial assistance, at all. So happy to have moved out. Would give them 0 stars if I could.

The day or so after your bill is due they put your storage on lockdown. Also the day you move out has to be completed before the office closes unlike many others which wants you to be moved out prior to the storage gates go on lockdown. Big difference. The manager lady from New York was the best part of my storage experience.

I walked into your smart cube storage unit place today on the 143 Highway in Williamsburg. I wasn’t for sure if I really want to buy I met Ms Sheron , with her friendly smile, and her soft tone sold me one. I truly think her so much. She’s such an asset to your company., miss you my new what I want. I want it with the right price I don’t have to say nothing. All I did was just sign my name. Some companies need a person like Mr. Ron to be demonstrated to then place to let people know how will you please post to work at your company. Please just don’t let this be a writing to the public. Also that show that you guys gave her something for her great asset to your company so that she wouldn’t mind or anybody with my coming to be cousin before you are I want to be employee for you? Pros: Staff on site are super nice. Facility seems clean, access gates maintained. Prices were reasonable. Cons: Insurance is mandatory but doesn't cover common damage. Half my items were ruined with mold damage, even after I paid extra for a climate controlled space. Company refused insurance claim. I believe this is common among storage spaces and the insurance fees are just a way to upcharge without providing a real service. Bottom line is pack your items in heavy duty sealed containers, take extra precautions, don't put anything valuable or sentimental in a unit and hope for the best .

I wish I could remember the lady’s name who helped me. I’ve never met her.. but talking to her made me feel like I KNEW her! She made me so comfortable with the process.. was patient with me.. had a very real answer for every question I asked. She was laid back and chill but professional none the less. I’ve never had storage before but I know for a fact if I need it again after this time.. I’ll be back! The unit itself is.. well.. it’s a damn unit.. it’s dry big empty and has a light fixture.. (big plus) but the personnel is what made the whole thing worthwhile. I appreciate her being so kind. Thank you.. lady from the Bronx! You’re the face of the company in my book.

Expensive, poor maintenance of gate, roof leaks and we were told it was fixed. It wasn't. Edit: Corporate reached out to explore the issues. A rarity today and appreciated. . They have either addressed the issues or are looking into them. I have hopes they will fix the remaining issues and have updated my rating. If the issues such as the gate etc are addressed, I will update again.

BEWARE!!! 3 year long renter here. Ever since CubeSmart has taken over, I have received 3 rate increases. The most recent was $50 with NO NOTIFICATION. I’m paying $275 for a unit that 3 years ago charged me $143. After complaining I was told that new renters of my space would be over $500!!!!! Don’t rent here new customers!!! They are taking you over the coals. There is no customer service, no value. For $500 you can rent a small apart for storage.

So much about my experience has met or exceeded my expectations. The application was easy to follow, and contact free check-in went really smoothly. They have a good variety of sizes to choose from. Online billing is so convenient that I don't even remember what I clicked, it just autopays every month with two courtesy email notifications at the right intervals. The moving cart is easy to handle and has been reliable for hauling my things. Staff was friendly and offered tips as I moved in. Other renters have been very pleasant to interact with. The instructions for entering your door code are posted and easy to follow. Pest control is decent, and the summer air conditioning will blow you away! (pun intended) One caveat: Don't try to take shortcuts comparison shopping like I did. Call and get all the info, even if you have to call a lot of places. I wanted to find a place with a low monthly rate. This place popped up. But the rate they quoted was $20 under their normal one because of a first month discount. Fair enough I suppose, but then I found out that they had another discount that made the first month completely free...which makes me think the entire purpose of the other one was only to draw people in with a seemingly lower rate. And at that point it's hard to be upset because they've technically given you more than they advertised. Again, I'm glad I picked this place, and I won't ding a star, but the trick definitely left me with a less positive feeling than I could have had.

They used to be a great and reasonably priced but they have increased rates so much that they are now one of the most expensive storage options - I have only used slightly over 2 years but have seen 2 significant rent increases. They also always have trouble with gate getting damaged and taking MONTHS to get it repaired. Customer service used to be amazing, has gotten worse. Buildings have stayed in good shape and halls are kept clean from what I see.
