NW Nickerson st CUBESMART, pariah pricing model , they won’t wait to come back against a person , excessive added costs within weeks or s few mnths, the reviews show this is escalating, I have spoken with many current persons at this site who are leaving or don’t want to lease here as they have been scammed also…seattles loaded up with this cube smart franchise , don’t be fooled , this queen anne and ballard location are locally owned , the owner enjoins with this national brand in their gouging pricing , the so-called offers are jacked into a 30-50% increases within less than 12 mnth…corporate strategizing pariahs all across seattle and this one jumps right in as a ugly version…not recommended

Cube Smart for our storage needs was the best decision I ever made !!! . Alisha the manager at the location we rented was super helpful to understand our needs and guided us to take a unit lower priced but still fitting our storage needs that helped me save lot of money !! . They Accept Packages, isn’t it so cool ? My Business Partners have tried Public Storage and Extra Storage, they trick you into signing up but they don’t accept package delivery such as Amazon or all the online vendors. But, Jonathan and Alisha are so cool than cucumber, we just got second unit now and only going to stay long and expand. That’s what we want… Wish all other storage unit providers are this good with their service.

Hospitality in its truest sense of the word! I rented a CubeSmart unit during a difficult life transition, and while moving is never easy—this particular move felt especially challenging. Alisha, the manager, went above and beyond to help me when I needed it most. She not only gave me the confidence to drive the box truck (a free service they offer for moving belongings), but when I realized the unit I rented was too small after completely filling it, she quickly found a perfectly sized and priced larger unit for me. The next day, I was able to transfer everything seamlessly, thanks to her resourcefulness. What truly stood out was how Alisha made this process not just manageable, but humane. Instead of adding stress to an already overwhelming situation, her kindness, compassion, and emotional intelligence turned the entire experience around. She ensured I had what I needed, and made me feel genuinely cared for at a time when I needed support the most. This location is really great. The place is laid out very thoughtfully, making in and outs very convenient. The large doors, multiple bays and great lighting make it easy to move in or out quickly and with less hassle. The staff is great too. I've was a customer at Cubesmart's Nickerson location for 6 months. I rented a large drive up space that was perfect for my needs. I had no security issues and was thankful never to have had issues with access. I found the rental rates to be very fair, and was aware that the rates might increase. The staff at this location has been helpful, cordial and during my move out, incredibly accommodating and patient. I would rent with them again.

I was nervous seeing all of the reviews, but I accepted a discounted term and knew that rates could go up with a months notice. They never did. The location was conveniently located and secure. The team on site was always friendly and helpful when needed. The facility was clean and there always were dollys to assist in moving my items. I want to give a huge shout out to Alisha at CubeSmart on Queen Anne. I arrived there yesterday just minutes before closing, stressing out about a landlord issue and the need to quickly store a van-load of stuff. I wasn't sure if my storage locker was already full, so we opened up a second one to expedite unloading the van. Alisha was friendly, compassionate, patient, and got it all set up. Then we rushed to get the items into the locker and get out so she could close. This is the second time in a year that Alisha has been kind and helpful when I was in a jam. Really helped diffuse a lot of my stress on a crummy day. Thank you, Alisha!!!!!

It was easy to make a reservation online, and quick to get moved in. I like that it is a secure facility with access only during business hours. There were times when I wanted to go and it was closed, but the added security was well worth it. Moving out was also easy, and staff are friendly and helpful.

I misplaced my key to my storage unit (which I have since found). I needed access immediately to get some mainsail battens. A phone call to my local cubesmart assured me that I could have the old lock removed and replaced. I could then but 2 new keys. I was able to meet with 2 employees the following morning and they solved my problem in an efficient friendly manner. Thank you!

I just moved out of my storage space at the CubeSmart location on W. Nickerson St., Seattle after 4 years. Our global travel has ended, so the storage is no longer needed. However, I want to commend the staff at this location and especially Darrell. He has been extremely helpful on several occasions. Darrell performs his job in a superior manner and provides outstanding customer service. In addition, the general manager, Patricia, who is now at the Aurora Ave. location, is very personable and is always willing to help. Nice place but WAAAY overpriced for the market and rate increases come too often. When I got my latest rate increase to more than $300, I comparison shopped to comparable storage facilities nearby and found all to be cheaper; 2 were half the price (one of those was i. A newer, nicer place!). I’ve been in my 10x10 unit for many years, but couldn’t justify paying so much more. The other thing that bugged me was the frequency of the rate increases. On plus side, it is well managed and clean.

The staff at this cubesmart have always been pleasant to work with. The facilities are modern and kept clean. The only downside to this location are the people passing by on the adjacent bike path and the 7pm closing time. Perhaps they will put up a barrier so that cubesmart users will not be bothered by any hobos on the bike path (there is a fence).

Had to go get something out of storage for my son, who gave us the unit # and key. They wouldn't let us in without the gate code. They also said it was not possible for him to authorize us to get in to the unit. As a lawyer that is hard to believe. So had to wait to get hold of my son and then wait for him to get a login to the app to get the code. 45 minutes wasted. Then they let us in but wouldn't say where the unit was or where to park. Had to circle around and figure that out. Also, there are no signs in the units saying which way to go. Eventually went in to a dark hallway where the light turned on once we were in there. So decided time to switch to a new facility (since we're paying for it). Funniest part. I let the manager know we had cleaned out the unit and would be moving on. He said that wasn't okay since we didn't let him know ahead of time. I said we're the ones paying for it, so rest assured you won't be getting any more money. He then asked for me to show him a photo from my phone confirming the unit was empty. I let him know he wouldn't be getting any access to my phone, and he can go look at the unit himself.

I e-mailed 5 different self-storage companies late on a Sunday night asking if they could offered package acceptance...starting, um, Monday morning? Before the office even officially opened for Monday, Darrell had answered every question, prepared all the necessary forms (prefilled with my name!), and set up my reservation. By 10am, the whole process was complete. In contrast, one other storage company replied to my e-mail...on Wednesday. The others never answered at all. The facility was clean, well-lit, and easy to access. There was a wide, tall garage door immediately adjacent to the curb. There were heavy-duty carts available inside the entryway. The elevator was spacious. The unit was spotless (and so was every other part of the facility). I checked my inventory; Darrell and team had received every single package in the expected condition and loaded them into my unit perfectly. All-around perfect service.

When I took possession of my unit Sunday, I didn’t happen to have my renters insurance policy on me. Who does? But I HAVE appropriate insurance didn’t want or need your $12 monthly “insurance” (which is NOT even actually insurance) and COULD have gone home to get my policy. BUT, the employee on duty - I assume it was Darrell Kilamura - told me not to not to worry. His exact words were “you’ll get that $12 back if you provide proof of insurance before the 18th.” That sounded perfectly reasonable so I believed him. Then on the next business day I emailed my policy to satisfy their requirement and get that initial month’s $12 back. However, Darrell Kilamura replied and contradicted himself saying I couldn’t get it back. I KNOW what he (or whoever was there Sunday) told me. This feels like a scam to prevent people who don’t have their policy with them from getting it the day they take possession of their unit. It’s a petty amount but I’m sure it adds up across many new customers. And it’s illogical if the person can prove that on possession day they HAD insurance. DO NOT TRUST this business

I had the worst experience with this company; in a year and a half they have increased the price 56.2%. Initially, they get you with a good price, they also tell you the size you reserved is not available and then they offer you a slightly bigger unit, but then six months later, they increase your price more than 20%, and then they will keep increasing the prices in an exorbitant way, considering we are still in the middle of the pandemic, it shouldn't be this way. The service and the price management should be different. They generate the invoice with the new price without giving you the one month notice. I don't recommend this company at all, also be very careful with the price strategy they manage.

5 stars is not enough! Always very prompt and professional communication. The managers, Alisha & Darrell, went out of their way to bail us out of a major jam on moving day, when Uhaul failed to have the truck we reserved, and refused to give us a suitable replacement. Alisha and Darrell got us set up with their truck on a busy weekend and at a far better price than we ever could’ve expected from uhaul. The entire office staff has been helpful from move-in to move-out. If I ever need a storage unit again, I will sacrifice the drive and use them again without hesitation!

Just be careful—the rate would go up after 6 months. I joined July 31 2020 and my Jan 2021 bill actually gone up by $39 in total w tax. Though having the original price on the ‘agreement’ you signed, they would still increase it WITHOUT noticing you. Don’t recommend it at all. I used Public storage before and am thinking about to transfer it. You would think there is no trick after 6 months renting the storage, think again....

I was a patron of this storage facility for over 3 years and overall had a great experience! The facility was always well lit, clean, and secure. The employees were helpful and even let me use the box truck when I switched units for free since I didn’t use it to move into my original unit. My only wish was that the hours were a bit longer (Mon-Sat until 7pm and Sun until 6pm) but other than that, I would definitely recommend this place!

It was simple to reserve everything online. It was simple to move-in. There were plenty of carts to use in the building. Good location. I was probably most impressed by how easy it was to end my storage unit rental. I was expecting it to be a pain. Instead, you don't require a 30-day notice, and "checking out" literally required me telling the woman working we had moved out and what my unit number was. It took 10 seconds, couldn't believe it. The next time I need storage, I'll be checking CubeSmart first rather than googling.

i’ve stored here a number of times and always had great experiences! most recently, i’ve had to move back in with my parents for a bit, so i needed to quickly move all my stuff out of my apartment. i requested a 5’x6’ online, but they were out of those when i went in, so they upgraded me to a 5’x10’ unit for no additional fees, and it was such a wonderful, helpful surprise! chris and patricia were both so helpful— chris helped me get a truck rented out super last minute, which made my life so much easier! a few days later, when i accidentally locked my key in my locker, patricia was incredibly helpful in getting me into my unit and helping me replace the lock. i really can’t recommend this cubesmart enough! they really are wonderful and incredibly helpful!

The manager here is rude! I rented a spot for business, I came in personally, took all the time needed to fill out forms and answer questions. Dropped off supplies on Monday and Saturday was called rudely to be told there was more to sign online. After explaining this is a business unit, I would be back to work on Monday and could resolve the issue I was told that is not acceptable and that I must go online during my personal time to fill out this paperwork. After attempting to go online I called to tell him I could not find the documents to sign they told me not to worry about it and come in on Monday. Sent an employee in on Monday, They were rejected for using the site. I was able to come in on Tuesday only to cancel as a result of the poor management, rude and abrasive personality. The lady running this place should be in collections not in customer service.

I have stored my stuff here on 2 separate occasions. Although a little expensive, the customer service that the team provides is pretty amazing. You also dont have to worry about your stuff all that much, it s a secure location, climate controlled. I left my goods here for about 2 years, and nothing was wrong when I picked them up. LOVE that the units have both heat & AIR!! ...but that's about it...theres no way to justify the manager attempting to show my unit to someone before I was even moved out. And just bc you were embarrassed I was there when you tried to open my unit to show a new customer doesn't mean you can yell at me for being there with my door closed. I'm allowed to be there and have paid for it. BTW... if you have a service dog thats always with you, apparently they're not welcome here and you'll be told you have to keep them in the hot car while you're in your unit. No exceptions. Not even on 90° days. Not allowed to walk them around the property outside either ...even if you pick it up and even if on a leash. So basically cube smart on nickerson in Ballard is an awesome location with horrible miserable management..the dark haired hag and the blonde chick there want you to suffocate your animal in a hot car bc apparently, ''its policy'' Im sorry but after reading cubesmarts website...something i shouldve done before i needed their free first 30 days... i learned they do A LOT for their employees but for customers? Not so much and at their leisure and discretion...since they definitely favor some ppl and dont give others the same leeway plus i know for a fact they let ppl store most the things here that are actually forbidden on the website but i doubt corporate cares enough to bat an eye at that since its only their insurance company that doesnt need to know those things!

Very pleasant people running this place. I was emailed and called within 24 hours of reserving the spot, encouraged to come take a look, and securing the unit was painless from there. They also provide a moving truck for the day of move. Book in advance and make sure you bring $100 cash for refundable deposit. The building seems really new. 3 loading bays are extremely convenient, and it’s well lit on the inside.

BOLT is by far your BEST solution for storage. My partner and I drove around all day comparing different options and all others in the Seattle area are run down and more expensive. Fantastic storage folks! In preparation for my deployment, I wanted to downsize and find a place to keep my belongings secure for 9+ months. Bolt is near my new home and seemed like a gateway choice form the moment I walked into the office. The staff and managers are super friendly and walked me through everything from unit location, pricing options, and insurance coverage. They will even walk you through units to ensure they perfectly meet your size, price, and accessibility requirements. There was even a point when I wanted to switch units at 6:50pm on a Friday and the manager, Erik, stayed after hours to take care of me. 10/10 facility; 11/10 service

Erik was extremely helpful in showing us avsilable units, identifying those conveniently located, selecting a way to downsize and save money and expeciting the paperwork involved in the transfer. This facility is well maintained and staff are very customer sevice oriented.

I wanna pay props to my store staff, Nickerson Bolt, for remaining vigilant in their station as gate keepers and key holders to the bolt rooms that make up this motley maze of stuff and things. This is a great business. The storage areas are always clean, a comfortable temperature, and well managed. The staff is friendly and always present and helpful. We have had no problems in gaining access to our unit or to the handy carts for moving furniture. Very functional and efficient.

Easy to get to, rates are quite reasonable, facility appears quite secure, and everyone on the phone/at the desk has been super nice and super helpful. I particularly appreciate the woman (whose name I did not catch) who came to check on me as I parked and reparked and reparked and the re-reparked my car 12 times because I have not left a car in storage before. Thank you for the assurance that I was doing it correctly!

I was able to reserve a unit at 9:00am and tour it right away and move my stuff in by 9:30! I am very pleased with the cleanliness and climate control of the building and the unit. Larishika was very friendly and professional. She took the time to show me the unit and orient me to the building, and she took the extra time to make sure I was set up for success. Great facility and great service!

The service was fantastic! Setting up the storage was quick and easy. Although I chose this location due to the proximity to my home, it was actually a great value. I liked that there was a security access gate and garage doors. There is always plenty of carts to use no matter how busy with activity it is. Closing out my account was a breeze. I spoke with a gentleman by the name of Bryce and he was beyond friendly and made checking out easy, it was almost sad to leave. I highly recommend BOLT modern storage on Nickerson and 13th Ave W.

Despite the marketing signs, the storage here is not really any different from somewhere else. This specific office is about 10x better than the staff you would have to deal with over on Nickerson. Additionally, the free moving truck will cash you a ***cash*** deposit. I believe it was $150. They do not except anything but an envelope with physical cash. At this day in age, that is absolutely absurd to ask for. Other than that, the place is ok nothing special.

Super easy access to the units, only downside is the hours available to your unit are limited rather than open 24hrs like some. Its very clean, no climate issues, well lit and security didnt seem to be an issue. One thing that i found amazing is that they prorate you on leaving your unit. I had paid for my last month and they actually gave me money back on the days i was no longer in the unit.
