Their OGM says it all when/if you call them; "we dont sweat the small things"! We have been at the Milpitas location for almost two years and just rented a second unit. The Manager, Austin, is awesome! It has been truly refreshing to experience such professionalism coupled with a genuine desire to be helpful, informative, and on task! The company as a whole has been responsive and quick to address an issue. Their gate times actually fit nicely with a working schedule, and instead of trying to squeeze every dime out of you with "surprize" fees and expensive locks only they carry, In Self Storage makes it quick, easy, and painless to rent a storage unit. Other storage facilities could learn A LOT from them.

Walked in needing help, and was instantly greeted by Latrice whom was genuine, helpful, and tuned my terrible day right around. I could have completed my reservation online but, Latrice was so professional and efficient I just did it in store and was in and out with a new unit within 10min. The units are clean, secure, and safe! Also there is an elevator and wide hallways. Would recommend to anyone needing a unit near freeway, on a main rode, and in a SAFE part of Burien.

BEEARE of renting a unit here!! My belongings were stolen from my unit and not only was no one helpful in rectifying the issue, my claim was denied as there was no damage to the outside of the unit and apparently that is the sole factor in deciding if a claim can be accepted. Additionally- despite there being multiple cameras on sight there was supposedly no footage of my items being stolen and staff was very unsupportive and lackadaisical throughout process; which leads me to firmly believe it was an inside job where the manager herself or her and others conspired to steal my belongings. The manager on site was unhelpful and often not in the office during office hours. The elevator was broken many times during my time renting a unit and made it almost impossible to access my unit, no amenities or reimbursement was offered for these inconveniences. Lastly, the unit prices was increasing on a semi-frequent basis. I will NEVER recommend CubeSmart to anyone every, my experience here was horrendous.

EDIT: I changed my rating from 3 to 2; just considering everything. GATE LOCKS DOWN AT 10PM, regardless of access code!! I stored my CAR. It was right where I left it. Safe and sound. A little covered in bird mess, but the storage was what i needed and served it's purpose appropriately. Gate access, access code, that was great. Nice and secure. HOWEVER! HOWEVER!! HOWEVER...!!! Gate hours. I understand office hours, but GATE HOURS.. I have an access code, yet the gate has hours. I had a flight land around 930pm, my Uber arrived at the storage at 10:07pm, and after 20 attempts, my code absolutely didn't work. ALL TO FIND OUT that the gate is inaccessible after 10pm, access code or not.... 7 MINUTES.. I was there to pick up my CAR!! I was STRANDED for an hour because 3 ubers refused to pick me up. I THEN had to get a hotel, because of the distance between my final destination and the storage. So i took an Uber from the airport to the storage, from the storage to a hotel, and back from the hotel in the AM to the storage. All because gate hours were not plainly displayed on the mobile app, or my contracts, nor were they displayed on the gate itself. Two extra ubers and a hotel that CubeSmart will probably not be reimbursing or subsidizing. So, -1 star for the odd gate hours in general, and -1 star because of the lack of explicit information about the gate hours, which would have prevented me from going to the storage so late and wasting $40 on unnecessary Ubers, and $200 on a last-minute hotel room. I would have booked a flight to arrive sooner and gotten to the storage before those silly gate hours. Midnight is more reasonable a time, if you just HAVE to lock the gate.

Cubesmart is a Mafiosi style business practice. They add improper fees that most people do not have the sills to correct this. I found them unwilling to work with corrects, holding payments and then charging late fees. They are not an honest corporation and very hard to deal with. I had to hire an attorney it was so bad. 5-27-2020 I had been there for 2 years prior to them taking over 4 months ago. Once they did, it was all downhill.

I have been using my storage unit here for over 8 years, and I've been very happy with the service over the years. It's switched owners and names a couple of times, but each time was a very smooth process, and my original contract was never changed (with exception of a small increase per month every couple of years to keep up with their business increase) each time there was a change I received it in writing with plenty of notice. The only issue I ever had was when I went to get some things and the unit next to me was so full it had bent the metal door between the units and knocked over some of my things. Completely not the facilities fault. They worked with me quickly to address the issue and made a plan of action. They gave me a close by unit and even spent time moving my things in there while reorganizing and ensuring nothing was broken. One thing was broken slightly and they offered to compensate me for it, but it wasn't a big deal to me so I passed, but was so happy with the customer service! The facility is clean, easy to get in and out, has plenty of parking (once you are in the gate), easy to get to the units and they provide carts to help get things around. I really like the new updated customer kiosk where instead of a service desk it's a giant automated machine that is easy to use. I could imagine some people would prefer to interact with staff and they have made sure they don't lose that aspect by having a call button and you basically have a Skype video conversation with them, it's really neat! I'm sure this way is better for security for the staff and saves cost in a way that is more convenient for them and the customer. The only reason I left was because I didn't need to store things there anymore. The cancellation process is very clear on the contract and the process went smoothly with nothing unexpected. If I ever need to store something again I will definitely be coming back!

Staff were knowledgeable, prompt in returning calls/emails, and were very friendly. They have a buy 6, get 7th month free, and we did that, then had to cancel a bit early. They were completely understanding and told me I'd get a refund for the unused months. Check is in the mail... no, really!!

So my wife called a week ago got a offer - promotion for 3 months 50% off a 10x10 so $90 a month basically, went saw the unit the next day, and I went to rent it today, and deal was now down to 1 month at 50% off only! Public storage does $1 for first month!

I have been in their bathroom when I first got a storage unit. My disabled friend who has IBS whom also got a storage unit needed to DESPERATELY use the bathroom today. I told whoever was on call that day that. They said they had no bathroom to use there. 2 customers upset with the callousness of the operator today.
