This is one of a series of stories we are sharing to show what’s inside CubeSmart. You not only get a peek inside our customer’s storage unit, but also a peek inside what is important to them. Thank you to P.J. Johnson, a customer of our CubeSmart store in Denver, CO, for sharing his story with us.
Organization is important to P.J. Johnson. A CubeSmart customer in southeast Denver for the past three years, this Alabama native moved to the area in the mid-90s and is currently making a home with his wife and in-laws.
To avoid cluttering up the shared living space with all of his belongings, P.J. decided to store both his and his wife’s personal items, along with his suits, casual clothes, furniture and, of course, his golf clubs.
“If the weather allowed, I would be playing either golf or basketball every day,” he says.
Given Colorado’s ever-changing forecasts, that’s probably not in the cards but P.J. still laughs thinking about the possibility, especially given he’s wearing several layers and a winter hat when we meet him.
Something else that makes him happy is his experience with the CubeSmart staff over the time he’s been a customer.
“Everybody is so nice,” he tells us. “Everyone has been really great and cooperative.”
Aside from the personal service, P.J. is also a fan of keeping his valued items inside an actual building, rather than stored somewhere more accessible to intruders of the creepy crawly variety.
“I like that this place is secure and all indoors,” he says. “I didn’t want to get something outside where the mice or bugs would go.”
Though P.J. only visits the unit about two times a month, he tells us with a big smile that he appreciates the opportunity self-storage gives him to stay organized and hold onto his possessions no matter where he lays his head at night.“It’s been positive because it’s allowed me to keep my stuff straight,” he says. “I live in a big house but there ain’t room for everything.”
We’d love to hear how self-storage has positively impacted your life. Share your #HumansofSelfStorage story in the comments.
