If there’s one thing California is known for, it’s wine. Vista and the entire San Diego region has long been considered to be on the outskirts of southern California’s wine culture and production. Brooking Vineyards specializes in traditional fortified winemaking developed in Britain in the 1600s.
The wines offered at Brooking are considered Angelica Wines. Angelica, in general, are robust and sweet, include port, sherry, and muscat, and are made from Mission grapes. If you’re in the mood for a bit of a different experience, or a drier wine to enjoy, try 2Plank Vineyards, or Grafted Cellars Winery, which not only has an incredible tasting room’ but also offers ‘sip and stretch’ classes where customers can stretch and enjoy a glass of sangria or sparkling chardonnay! Pro tip: Both vineyards sell and ship wine online, but Brooking Vineyard only ships to addresses in California.
